Happy new boat day to me!
I'm new to the forum, but not new to boats.
My most recent boat prior to this one is a 1989 Ski Brendella with a 351 Windsor inboard. It belonged to a friend of mine, and we skied 3-4 days a week during the summers he had it. He moved because of work and took the boat to his parent's house. The cover was destroyed and the boat sat, under a tree, for ~2 years. He offered the boat to me and apologized for not giving it to me sooner. I replaced the stringers, floor, flotation foam, and the majority of the wiring. Had the engine gone through, heads redone, rebuilt carb, plugs, wires, distributor, gaskets, new axle for the trailer, trailer tires, put a tower on it with speakers and spot lights, new seats, horn, stereo... etc. Basically rebuilt the boat. It's cool though. NOW.
My newest boat is also a project. It's a 2007 Sea Ray 195 Sport that has a cracked block.
Believe it or not, I actually have an extra 305 in my shop, from a Chris Craft I gave up on. Funny how boat parts collect.
The largest struggle, I think, is going to be replacing all this shitty interior. I can't believe how bad it is. The boat only has 139.8 hours on it, but I can tell that it hasn't been well cared for.
Great Lakes Skipper has skin kits for the 185 and the 215, but not the 195.
Are the seats the same in the 185 as the 195?
I'll post progress as I make the boat nice again. First step is going to be cleaning it!
