2017 Mercruiser 4.3 MPI - Error Help

2017 19SPX - 220 HP Merc 4.3 MPI EC

On the way back from the sandbar last weekend, I started getting an error beep underway. Had a chance to spend some time troubleshooting last night.

Current Issue:

• Under power only, alarm beep: 1 long, 2 short, pause, repeat. No error at idle neutral or in gear.
• Oil Pressure (guage), Oil level (dip), drive/trim oil level (tank) - good
• Water temperature seems to stay low, barely came off of full cold on ~5 mile trip home, same last night after ~15 minute idle and 2 minutes under power
• Constant "whine" from engine at idle, sounds like an accessory, and may be normal

Any help greatly appreciated. The low water temp makes me think t-stat, and I've already ordered one. Wish I could find a code reader for this thing for under $700.

The cheap first shot would be a thermostat. It should be a pretty easy task though I've never worked on a motor as new as yours!

You may also want to find that whine and make sure it's normal. Perhaps take a video and post it here for review. I bet there are owners of similar motors that could tell you whether or not it's normal.

Replacement doesn't look too bad, four hoses, and two bolts. Maybe I should do the temp sender at the same time.

Thinking about the whine some more, I wonder if I'm not a little low on power steering fluid. The whine sounds a little like when you hold steering at full lock on a car.

There's also a water pressure sensor mounted on the power steering cooler... I just wish I could read the damn code.

Any recommendations on troubleshooting DTC 61? Looks like Fuel Pressure Sensor High

Surprised how hard it is to find the code list. Best I've found a 2008 Brunswick Vessel View Manual which lists 61 as one of 12 Fuel Injector codes.

Any help pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated.
