I am wondering if anyone can take a photo of the anchor compartment lid latching mechanism on a pre-2010 240 SD. The latch and lid on my 2004 model are fine, but it seems there was once a catch screwed to the boat which is now missing. There are two holes in the fiberglass just inside the hatch, about 1.5" apart, and it seems that a simple L-shaped bracket would work fine to "catch" the latch from the lid. Before I do so, I just want to see if my solution is similar to what was once there. If anyone is out on their boat and could snap a quick photo of the mechanism, I would be very appreciative. Thanks!

Here is a picture out of your parts manual. Its a piece of plastic (HDPE) Part number 1223676

You could easily make it its just a rectangle with the two holes and sticking out far enough to catch the latch.

On the 2006 parts diagram, they call it a cleat. I'll take a picture when I get to the boat this weekend, unless somebody else does it first.

Thanks so much. I was able to screen shot this from a YouTube video demo of a 2004 240 SD. Looks very simple to make! If you’re out this weekend, would you mind measuring the L x W x H HDPE block? Could probably estimate from the photo, but I would love to design something virtually identical to the original part.
