I have a 2002 Sea Ray 280DA There are switches on the dash for hatch lift are the switches wired and if they are where in the bilge are the wires. I am putting in my own hatch lift actuator and wondering if the switches are wired. thanks

Look in your owners manual supplement for the correct wiring diagram for your boat (us/European, single/twin,gas/diesel).

The hatch lift is controlled by the aft EIM. That’s Located on the board on the port side above the batteries and right beside the battery charger.

From the correct wiring diagram, trace the hatch lift circuits to the correct pins on the output plug. A lift wasn’t an option in 02, so there may not be any wires on the plug to connect with the EIM. I can’t remember whether the EIM plugs are male, or female. If there are wires in the pin outs positions on the plug, open up the plastic and pull them out.

If there are no wires you will need to get the right end (m/f) for your wire to run to the actuator (EIM wires are only positive, no grounds). These are usually solderless crimps. Once the correct end is on they are inserted into the plug and just snap in place.

After this you are off to the races.
