290 Amberjack V-Dirve and Fuel Consumption, Planning speed etc...

Looking for Amberjack owners with inboards. I have a few questions. Seems like I am running to fast to get boat on plane.


1. Prop Dia. and Pitch
2. Planning Speed
3. Plaining RPM's
4. WOT
5. Top Speed

Any info would be appreciated.

Alright, another Amberjack owner!!

I have a 2009, which is a hearvier boat, hardtop etc - 13,000lbs dry. 350 mag Horizons with V-drives. Here is what I am running with 250 gallons of fuel, 30 gallons of water and a empty black water tank. I also have all my trolling gear on board, but don't think that has significant weight.

3800-3900 rpms running at about 21knots. I can stay on plane at 3700 rpms.... Boat likes to run at 3850rpm's. I do use trip tab's about 50% deployed on both sides.
Fuel burn is between 28-32 gallons an hour depending on bottom growth. We have had a bad year for barnicles as well as the typical slime growth we get this time of year.

I have not officially recorded WOT lately but I recall it being 27knots at 45 gallons per hour. ~ 4200 rpm's I'll record it more accuratly this weekend for you. The boat does run a little bow high, but at this angle really handles rough seas well.

Thanks for the information.
Mine runs about 26 mph @ 3700~3800 rpm.
Fuel burn probably about the same.
Any others out there?

I have an 05 AJ with 350 mags - v-drive & gent set - WOT with full fuel and 4 aboard - 5100 rpm - 33 mph. - My boat likes it at 3800 rpm cruising 24 mph.

My 07 twin 350 v drive 130 hrs./genny/full fuel and water..weight 13,500..like to run 3700/3600 24 to 26 mph gps/radar total burn per smartcrafy 15gph..almost right on on calcs. when filled up and compare hrs. used to gals. purchased to fill both tanks

15 gph seems very low from what I have read and and psot above. Do you have a secret to acheive this gph rate?

That has to be 15 GPH EACH

No your fine. My Smartcraft shows total burned for both. Do you have individual Smartcraft gauges on the 290AJ? If not, Jollymonsrv is dreaming.
