Ought to be a law, no electric allowed after the marina closes.
get on the hard and do it right or move to a warmer climate

    Huh? Was the marina "closed"?

If this the same one that was on our local news, my understanding is that there was a couple living aboard a sailboat. And that is where the fire started. She is 7mos. pregnant too. Lost everything.

Constitution Marina and many others stay open year round to accommodate liveaboards. Part of their business model.

I'm glad no one was hurt.

Space heaters continue to be a problem.....especially the old ones (resistant coil) that do not have safeties built in to shut them down if they overheat or tip over.

If they were living aboard.......I can't imagine that they weren't using space heaters to stay warm.

My CruisAir has a 2k auxiliary heat module that when activated just uses the aux heat module and the fan. Most of the marinas I have been at stipulate in the slip lease that only: "heaters which are part of the boat's systems may be used".

Our boat club has the same rules. We do not allow power cords run into the boat during the winter. We allow shoe power to stay hooked up.
