300 Sundancer Dash Color

Hello,

I just purchased a 2002 300 Sundancer and am looking to fill in some holes/gouges left by the old GPS stuff on the dash. The color is a tanish brown..does anyone know where I could purchase paint/epoxy/silicone in a close shade? The only thing I’ve found so far is DAP caulk colored “clay”

If it is gellcoat, Spectrum has small size perfect match. You can probably call them with your Hull number and they can tell you what you need to get.

You can check the exact color match with Spectrum using your HIN, but I think the color is “pewter.” The last time I checked Spectrum for that color on my old boat, it was not available in paste form in the small patch kits, only in liquid form in a large container for over $200, in which case you have to brush or spray it on.

Chris: that's a cool dash layout. From what I saw in the parts manual, that looks like what they offered if you got the Volvo diesels ... bit you have the 5.0 Mercs

I have an '02 as well and I have the same layout. Large Speedo in center and a small sync gauge below it flanked by fuel gauges.

So, it is nice to have newer/low hour engines and accessories, with a known maintenance history. Coming from the original 5.7s w/TBI (260hp, I've heard measured at the prop back in the day), the performance gains are minimal.

Checked out the 2002 parts manual and they are only showing a single dash config:

I’m going from memory here from ten years ago. I had a 2004 300DA and my dockmate had 2002 300DA. He did not have Smartcraft gauges. Sea Ray didn’t put Smartcraft gauges in until 2004. Volvo engines do not have Smartcraft either, obviously, as it is a Mercruiser invention. So the pre-2004 and the Volvo 300DAs will have the same gauges and layout. The 2004 and later gas 300DAs will have the Smartcraft gauges and layout.
