Looking for a mechanic that is fluent with the 3126 Cat. St. Pete FL area. Need an engine survey on the twins. Thanks Neal

Call the local Cat dealer and have them do the survey. They have proprietary tests that they run and they can look up the serial numbers and give you the history of the engines.

For my 3116's it was about $900 for them to come out and survey the engines.

Just make sure to ask that the mechanic speaks Westerbeke too.......

If you are looking for someone to do a survey, call Tim Caruso. http://www.catenginesurveyor.com/

I think he is east coast, but if he can't do the work he will give you a good recommendation for someone.

Search CSR and google him first to check out what people say about his work. He couldn't do my survey because of timing, but he spent probably an hour on the phone with me explaining the engines I was buying, what he thought of them, and anything to watch out for AFTER telling me he couldn't do my survey.
