Anyone know what size bulb for nav light? I noticed it was out and forgot to remove before leaving that last time out.

thanks in advance.

My 2005 320DA Owners Manual says "Bulb Replacement: Bulb# GE2641L 12V R 10W". Hope that helps!

I just replaced mine. And my manual says that, too. But I couldn't find GE2641L bulbs on line or on auto parts stores anywhere. After Googling a lot, I found that it was equivalent to the Sylvania 5008 and Philips 12814. Those I could find on line. But not locally in a store. Finally, just took the bulb to West Marine and found an Ancor (I think) equivalent. Just match the size and base and make sure it's a 12V 10W bulb. They should have them in stock. Buy 2; the red one is the same :)

Hi, is there an updated link for the LED replacement BULBS on @coreyf311's posting above? That link is dead and I cannot find a match when I try to use the URL to derive the specific bulb. I know they are BA15s/5008/1156. I think that's only the base (connector) size. I don't know what the bulb size it to make sure it fits in my nav light casing. Thus, I'm being safe and wanting to specifically use what was used above for my 2005 Sundancer 280DA

Thanks so much
Bryan

Thanks @Todd320, I'm looking at just the bulbs within. But maybe knowing the measurements of the housing can help. Regards.

I went with these.

Take note to the others that are referencing replacing the entire light. This is the only "approved" way to upgrade your lights to LED. LED's require a differently designed reflector on the inside of the lens to properly be seen at the rated distance.

Yes, you'll see people on some forums say "Wow, I replaced the bulbs with LED bulbs and they are so much brighter". First, replacing a 20-year old bulb with ANY new bulb is going to be brighter. Second, "bright" from 10' away is not the same as from 1 or 2 miles away.

Or... your existing bulbs lasted how long? Put the same thing back in and be good for another "x" number or years. It's not like you need LED's in your bow lights to save power.

Agree, 100%, too important to risk not being seen at night. Either use the same bulb, or replace entire thing. Also, replacing with LED bulb might not provide the same 135 degree viewing angle required. So might be bright enough at 2 miles at a 45 degree angle, but what about head on, and what about approaching from 90-130 degrees?

Thanks all. I'm liking LED more so because I'm a geek I guess. I wanted LED throughout and at least feel I won't have to care about replacing the bulbs again for a long time. Also the comment above about the heat melting the casing got my attention. I don't know a lot about electricity so if several are suggesting changing the fixture to better power and reflect the led bulb light, then I can go that path. Regards.
