had a chance to run a 2005 340da for 140 miles today. A variety of "sporty" conditions - into the wind, beam sea, down hill...super impressed with the power (8.1 v-drive), how quick it planed (and refused to fall off even at slow speeds), its weight easily cut through the chop and felt FAR more substantial than my 300da......I know its been said before, but sea ray really got this one right! Ive run a 320 in the past too and there is NO comparison there either....

It was blowing pretty hard out today. You Must have had and interesting ride. They really are great boats.

wind was in our face coming down narraganset bay, but it was with the incoming tide and it was a dry ride.....that changed once we "turned the corner" a wet ride and beam sea (3'-5') - this was the worst part of the trip....once in Buzzards it calmed down and we had a fair tide through the canal and stopped in sandwich for gas (left cranston with tanks at 90% and took on 170 gallons) per your advice, at least we picked a day with winds out of the south so the run to Quincy was pretty comfortable. the sun finally came out as we docked the boat! 7 hrs dock to dock with the stop....

We really love ours! For the size and weight of the boat it still feels very sporty. The power is great when you want it and you can easily cruise on plan at a low RPM. This is probably why it is one of the most popular Sea Ray boats. When I was in the process of purchasing mine I actually had someone approach me to buy it from me when we were doing a pre-survey inspection.

Sounds like a fun day. Glad you made it ok. There is always something more fun with a trip while burning someone else’s fuel.
