1983/2006 37' Ten Meter Bertram/Trojan with YANMAR DIESELS

Yeah, I think the ad is a bit much as well. Not criticizing just saying it's too much content for me as a buyer.

If it's not too late call Bob at Anglers Edge Marine. Flat fee and he will get it on every website out there. I've listed every boat I've sold with him since about 2009. Bob really is the best.

Sooo...you're going to continue selling the 2006 on boatrader while your broker gets after the 1983 on his websites? Shrewd!

You should connect with @mrsrobinson . He's been looking for a unicorn! Though I think he's looking for newer/bigger.

NO

I said I would fix that this week..

I will do so, don't worry :)

I am not being rough, giving feedback to help him sell. We have all been or currently are buyers that can help him. As a buyer I don't want to see pics of your kids, dogs, you fishing. In fact, I don't want to see people/you in any of the pics (think about buying a house when you walk thru and see personal items). I don't need to see dinner on a table. Plus its a public ad on the internet anyone can see, kind of creepy.

I don't need to see pics of brochures, paperwork, etc. Go see what brokers take pics of, pretty much all of the good ones show the same things. Post these pics. And what I love now is a video walk thru of the boat, much better than any pics. I have also found when looking at ads to make a big purchase I don't want to hear how you feel about the boat, I want the facts if you will so I can compare apples to apples. I don't care if your family loved it, that you have many great memories, all the trips you took, etc. I want to know if it's been serviced and well maintained.

All the SEA RAY advertisements show photos of boats with PEOPLE

I flew up to DC and looked at a 450 DA

I sure do wish that guy had posted 100 current photos.

Would have saved me an airline ticket, rental car and hotel room.

Just sayin....

BEST !

Hah. I was being quite serious with that comment. If you've followed some other threads on the topic there are widely varying levels of pre-purchase due diligence being discussed. Your records would no doubt be a positive thing. I think your asking price for a 1983 will take a unicorn buyer indeed, one ready to pay mostly cash (banks are going to lend $40k for that?), but your Trojan is slick. Very nice...

RWS, sold my 1989 Trojan 10 Meter mid-cabin (big block gassers) in (1) day after talking with a local broker to list it. Couple that bought it used military bonus money and home equity loan to buy it.
I have been a member for years on Trojan boat forum and have followed all that you have done to the boat. Moved up to a 370 Sundancer (4) years ago. There mechanic was very impressed with all of the maintenance records and upgrades I had done on the Trojan and that sealed the deal.
She will sell as that magic buyer will appear.

“inaccuracies” ? how about misrepresentation?

FULL DISCLOSURE

The ad is very clear that she is a 1983 hull.

FULL DISCLOSURE

Anyone who looks at the ad can read this.

FULL DISCLOSURE.

I was advised by a professional Broker to list the boat in this manner

I took his advice, as I have little experience in this area.

No one reading the ad will be misled. FULL DISCLOSURE

My apologies if the advertisement offended you, or anyone else on this Forum.

I do not wish to debate.

Out of respect to the Forum, and those I've offended, I am going to scroll up through this thread and delete the offending link in my first post.

That should resolve all these concerns.

THANK YOU !

I'm confused, your broker listed the boat on his for-sale site as a 1983? You shared with us that link too. Now he's telling you to keep it listed as a 2006 on Boattrader.com?

It's hard to keep up with this one. But you are quite right, none of our business...until you post it all over the forum sharing it with us :):)

Either way good luck with the sale...

And I must agree that with the sentence you added it is substantially more clear now that it's a 1983. Slimy factor has been reduced. Prior to this thread I didn't know that it was common to re-birth a boat during a refit. Learning that this is a broker approved tactic is good intel....

I thought the boat remained whatever year it was built with a refit done on such and such a date. At least that's how I see Hatteras boats listed. YMMV, but I feel like that specific boat is a 1983.

When we listed our 1989 Trojan International 12 Meter Motor Yacht it was listed as a 1989 but listed the interior refit and engines replaced in 2006 and the transmissions rebuilt in 2017 in the vessel details.

It’s a 1983. That’s what the hull ID will say. That’s what the banks and insurance companies will say. However very few, if any have had the upgrades this one has had. The price reflects that. Any buyers will likely be well versed in the particular model of Trojans. Kinda like buying old cars.

I've never seen a frame-off restored 1969 Camaro listed for sale as a 2018...:)

I think anyone interested in this boat will have a good idea of the year before they even start searching. You're not going to get some one looking for an express cruiser. You're going to get a buyer that's specifically looking for a bertram
