New to the forum and this is my first post. Been watching and reading since the day before SRO closed down.

Just took delivery of a '98 370 'dancer with only 140 hours. Tried to make some room by storing some of the cushions, etc. as everything was just piled up in the aft sleeper area.

So, umm....., just where does all this stuff go?

None of the factory manuals and booklets say anything about where to put the salon table and post when you are not using it. It doesn't seem to fit under the settee or under the sole. Same is true for the aft cabin. Where does that little cocktail table and leg go? Or the sunpad for the foredeck? Or the settee sleeper cushions or the aft sleeper cushions? All the storage areas require way too much compression to fit the cushions in anywhere comfortably. And then there's this cushion for what looks like the sunpad in the cockpit. Surely that doesn't go into the engine room with table under the hatch.

There are lots of nooks and crannies in this boat, but nothing is overtly obvious. My last boat only had a table that was removable for storage and its spot was entirely clear.

So, what's the scoop? TIA!

Welcome to the board RubberDuckee.

Sorry to hear your can find room for your stuff. I guess the previous owner failed to give you the floating stroage dingy that comes with every new Sea Ray. It's pretty neat actually. Has holders and places for every thing you need to get out of the way. And it's always hanging around the back of the boat.

Just kidding... :smt043

There are a few 370 owners that can tell you all about the secret compartments. :smt017

Gene.
I think you will find that many of the cushions do not have suitable storage spaces on the boat. The swim pad for example is simply too big to stow on the boat. I had a sunbrella cover made for the swim pad for ImpulseIII and keep in on deck all season. The extension cushions to convert the cabin settee into a birth and the cushions to convert the cockpit into a sun lounge are safely stowed in my basement. Again, no room on the boat for these. Not sure what to tell you about the tables but the table in my main cabin is always up and I have no table for the mid cabin. If you don't use it, home storage is usually best. Just my $.02....enjoy the boat.

Welcome aboard,

My larger table does fit underneath of the salon sofa, but I always have it up. I think the sofa was redesigned in '97 so yours may be different. I do store the cocktail table and pole under it, along with the central vac attachments. Aft cabin - I usually have the filler cushions in because this is where the kids sleep. However there is a storage area on the port side, lift up the cushion and there is an area that the filler cushions will fit into. Sunpad - at home in my attic, don't ever see us using it. Do you have a cockpit table (mine is always up) there are brackets underneath the rear bench seat that it slides into. There should be a short pole like the one for the salon and a filler cushion (in the attic as well) to convert the entire U shaped seating area into a lounge.

The 370 is a wonderful boat, one of the bst looking ones SR ever built, it is a little thirsty though.

hope this helps.

Wow, that was fast! Thanks for all the replies. And I'll post a hello on Who's Who as well.

Yeah, the boat was fully equippped and I have all the tables and all the cushions (and all the books and manuals too). And my suspicions are confirmed, there's not enough room to store everything away.

I wanted to create as much open space as possible by keeping the tables down. The salon table doesn't fit under the settee and if I put all the mid-cabin cushions under the port bench, there doesn't appear to be any room to store the small midcabin table or the settee cushions. The cocktail table is stored under the engine hatch, but the sunpad cushion for it is taking up room in the mid-cabin along with the bow sunpad.

When I got the boat all these pads were just piled up in the midcabin along with the SeaRay bag, life jackets, etc. Guess most of this might have been piled up in the owner's attic before the sale.

And now looking at this post, I realize that in the late hour, I put it in the wrong forum. Oh well, I'll get the hang os this soon.

Thanks again and keep those suggestions coming!

Gene,

My memory of the 370DA is a bit foggy, but there may be storage for the main salon table under the v-berth - over the AC unit. The mid cabin table will fit under the port side cushion in the mid cabin - I used a towel to cushion it.

Cockpit table cushion always stayed at home - never used it.

Sunpad is a pain on every boat. It fits on the dashboard at night, but usually lived in the mid cabin and was always in the way.

You have just discovered one of the main issues with a 37 SR. I stored my solon table and pole at home and put it on the boat for the new owner when it was sold. We bought a coffee table with three storage drawers from Holds Everything and placed it in the solon soon after we took delivery. This served as our table for eating during bad weather and more importantly, we could store clothes in two of the drawers. The third drawer was where we kept the boat manuals, etc. I could never get over how a boat that is nearly 40 feet overall had so little storage.

RB 2. Welcome to the forum........ & congrats on the new boat.

Your observation of the 370 DA is correct.....there is very little storage.....a good excuse to move up !!

Like mentioned above.... I also store my salon table under my V berth cushion above the a/c unit... when not in use. but that is rare. We leave it set up 99 % of the time.

As far as the cockpit table....that SHOULD be stored under the aft seating cushion. If you look under the fiberglass bench seat....you should see 2 " L " shaped slides that hold the table in place. Our table only comes out at marinas or at anchor.

We store our life jackets in the starboard compartments behind cockpit seat.......our electric cords & water hose in the port side compartments...near the wet bar. In the compartment under the helm seat....we store the post for the cockpit table....I also have that compartment devided with plastic storage bins ..... for alot of the smaller stuff.

The fenders are stored in the " trunk " compartment in the transome

We also make use of the storage compartment under the salon floor ...we call the " boats basement "
I also made shelves in the hanging locker between the salon & aft cabin for food storage & can goods.

Look around .... there is storage under the salon couch ....and aft cabin couch we use for the Magma bbq and other stuff.

We also leave the deck sun pad out all season..... but some times just store it in the aft cabin if we're off the boat.

Good Luck with the boat........and enjoy it.

Look behind the back cushsion for the transom seat. The back cushion lifts up and out on some 37s and there is an 8 foot long locker behind it. You probably know some of the aft facing sets are held down with velcro with lockers below.

sbw1,

I think you are speaking of pre '94 350/370 DAs. 1995 was the first year for the reverse arch, the cockpit seating is different, the rear cushion and platform come out but the backrest does not, you can look in the lazerette and see the hardware holding it. Also I forgot to mention that in the aft cabin there is storage under the starboard side cushion. If you leave the filler cushions in the aft cabin, you can slide some stuff under there.

Were do you guys store your canvas after you take it down?

Our 37 had a great floor locker that was probably 2 1/2 feet wide by 8 feet long. We called it the basement. Worked well for canvas, spares and non perishable food. One of the better features in my view.

Hi Everyone,
I have a 1998 370 and never received the setee sleeper cushion or the sunpad for the cockpit. Can anyone show me what they even look like? I've googled, searched and asked and no one knows. I'd love to get them, but don't even know where to look. Thanks a bunch!!
