Fully understand, appreciate, and support that. And btw congrats! (I also noticed that on your signature awhile back) :) I’m sure you guys are loving it and counting down the days till spring. That’s quite a move up! I checked them out on yachtworld and the cabin space looks awesome!

I was just poking fun at the "but it's more like a XXX Sea Ray" that keeps coming up lately. Humor only...

I really was curious if you have been on one? If not come accross and visit us next year.

As Scott said the other day about the SR number muddle, CY did the same. The 3870, while having a diesel option was built as a gas vessel. While the 4270 was built as a diesel vessel. They were sister boats, more alike than different, that were a foot different but the marketing perception was bigger.

Nope, I have not been on one. There was (still is, actually) a 2000 3870 local to me that I kept seeing when shopping for my 400. I honestly never considered it due to the "size" (nameplate). If I'm going to pay for 44' OAL for winter storage there darn well better be a 4 at the beginning of my model number!!! ha.

It often gets a better rate at the transient marina. LOL

The 4270 was built with gassers too. Like the 400DA, you can spot a gasser 4270 from a distance by looking at the waterline at the stern.

It was, and you sure can. I do not think they recommended them and I do not see them for sale often.

They must use different tape measures at the factory when it comes time to label the boats. Most models are off by a little. Take mine for instance,
    1990 searay 420 sundancer.
You would expect the boat to be near 42' long.
When it left the factory it was 47' 6" long.
I have since added another 25" in length by adding to the swimplatform to accommodate a jetski.
Now overall is at 49' 7"-but -shush, I'm still charged at 42'

I think many models were numbered by waterline length.
