Hi all, I was on a hour cruise the other day and came off plane and forward high water bilge alarm went off. I went below and there was indeed some water but not a lot. I took the time back at dock to get the water out and Checked engine compartment and it is dry.

I got underway again today. I decided to not run with generator, no AC, and I made sure fresh water pump was off. After an hour trip, came off plane and alarm again. I pulled the floor boards and I’ve included a pic of the view. Engine compartment is dry.

The area under floorboards where the sump pump is is dry...?

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Is the sump box in that picture full or empty?

Looks full so its pump died or slimed up.

Sump box overflowing?

When I had water in that compartment it was from my old AC PAN that overflowed because of a restrictive drain hose. It could also be from the manifold as that drains down there as well I believe. The hot water heater does not - it sits in a well. The sump pump or a hose going to the pump might be the suspect as well. Dry it all out and see if you can tell where the stream is dripping down from to help figure it out. Also take a look in the compartment under the rear salon floor.

Previous owner had same, Then we did, it tuned out to be water came in from side vent onto surface starboard fuel tank then on to step it rests on. Sea Ray tech came up and we tried everything to find this. Had a camera set. The a mass of water through the vent and we got it. If you would like I can dig up old Photos of vents w/ P/N's that block the egress of water. The Gas 8.1's sit slightly forward and over time this puddle migrates through the stacked laminate down through and into that space the tank sits on. Sea Ray trouble shot that not I. The fix was to remove starboard engine, genny & starboard fuel tank! Laminate over the seam of upper bilge floor and bilge wall. These are built as modules and laminated in. Had very small seam that was source. This was a poor laminate from Factory. I can say as I have 32 years in glass business. After new laminate they added baffles behind the each side intake designed to allow for air to pass and not water. I am not very good at finding archives but it was posted here.

Maybe you can disqualify this as your intrusion by a coat hanger and towel down between starboard tank and forward bilge wall. All the best. ( Jim Meir at Sea Ray was manager I dealt with. Very Knowledge.)
.

Search this Water intrusion topic under Escapade. The P/N or the intake vent is Sea Ray 117142 each each port and starboard.

Thanks for the input. Winning answer was the shower sump. Replaced and all systems go. Thanks for help.
