40 sedan bridge forum

I pulled the TV box last week end. There are a few screw holes to fix but other than that there is a 2 inch round hole for the coax and power cable. A standard receptacle plate will cove that so I will cut it square and put a box and plate over it. Found a TV wall bracket on Amazon that is made for RVs and locks into position to prevent swinging around so that will go in to allow us to swing the TV to the correct position and lock it down, Looks a lot bigger in the salon now

I have a 2000 400 Sea Ray Sedan Bridge and want to replace the ice maker which was mounted under the outside steps the old one was removed before I bought the boat. Does anyone know the model number and size. Thanks

In an effort to find something else to do at work last Friday besides work...... I drew up my 400 in Autocad from a picture that a friend took last summer. I then added it as a graphic to some t-shirts that I ordered to give out to favorite guests.
I ditched the radar mast off of my boat, and have a satellite TV dome, but if anyone would like a graphic of the stock boat with mast, I would be happy to add it and share.

A little Christmas parading this past weekend with live music on the flybridge.

That is awesome, I've wanted to do the same for mine, I just don't have the talent to draw it up. I grabbed a profile pic of mine and popped it into photoshop and tried erasing everything but the profile lines, but it didn't come out great. I may try drawing it on to a new layer, using the pic as a guide. Nice work, I'm jealous!

Boat splashed today with new bottom paint, cutlass bearings and shaft seals. 3 mile an hour current and I hit 29 mph with full fuel tanks and very low water tank level. Previously I was only hitting around 23 or 24 MPH previously. RPMs were significantly improved as well. Pretty darn excited about the results.

Here is a sum-up of the electronics upgrades that I have made over the past couple of years.

GPS-Old

GPS-New. I custom cut a new piece of woodgrain. The large left over bit was used up on other projects below.

New Digital Tachs (super accurate)

Old Clarion Stereo in Salon and old remote on the bridge.

New Fusion Stereo, and cover for the old remote hole in the dash on the bridge. The Fusion is networked so I can fully control it from the new Raymarine GPS. I made the hole-cover from the left over bit from the Raymarine install. In the salon, i decided to paint the white melamine black to match the stereo.

Old Raymarine Radio

New Raymarine Radio. I needed to make a bezel to match the new radio cut out size.

I also upgraded to the new Quantum radar, but that will have to wait for another post.

Next up is the Auto Pilot this coming Spring.

Finally winterized this past weekend with one more cruise in on a windless 60 degree day. The good news is that we only winterize for about 2 1/2 months. Wife was adamant that I didn't put in any of that disgusting smelly pink $@#% into our freshwater tank. I considered blowing the lines out with air, but thought I would try the Vodka route that I've read a bunch about. A little more money, but not too bad for about $100 worth of cheap Vodka. Supposed to help sanitize the lines and tank a bit, but more importantly has no smell or taste left in the system when flushed out. I added a small amount of red food coloring to one bottle so that I could verify when the water was out and the vodka was in, just as you would RV antifreeze. Guess we'll see how it goes this year.

That is the one that was in mine. If the previous owner also removed the mounting frame from inside the cabinet I can provide you with pictures and dimensions so you can fab up a replacement.

Really nice. I so want to get the digital tachs, but I can't get over my love of the analog sweep hand look. I've been trying to figure out a way to mount the digital tachs in parallel out of the way, but haven't come up with anything attractive yet.

Dave,

Looks great! What year is your boat?

So New Years Morning when you need a Bloody Mary or Screw Driver, you simply turn on the fresh water pumps and open the faucet to add the vodka? I like it

I always use the pink anti freeze however I never put it in the water tank. Rather I by-pass the water heater, then disconnect the water tank lines from the water pumps and hook up hoses to the fresh water pumps and place the hoses in a bucket of pink anti-freeze. Once all hooked up turn on the pumps and open up on fixture at a time. Works great and you have no pink anti-freeze in the water tank or the hot water heater.

I am going to replace my tachometers with Atena ones you put in. How difficult were they to replsce
