410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread**

i can snag a pic this week if no one beats me to it but it’s in the hatch directly aft of the forward berth, so aft of the forward AC. The tube is towards the back of that compartment and the motor is perpendicular to it on the bow side of the tube.
thank you - I'll run the cables to that hatch and do a bit of sealing work to make it a (near) watertight compartment.

the factory put the battery in the compartment just aft of that (the one near the forward head door) and the dedicated battery charger is on the bulkhead in the middle compartment. I believe our battery is a 4D

Well my season ended yesterday, right on schedule. I plan to run out to her winter resting spot today or tomorrow to throw the plastic cover on. With that it's a relaxing fall, a quick trip through the winter holiday season and then I start visiting the boat regularly again to get her ready for next year.

2021 was a bit of a bummer from a weather standpoint. At least for the two big trips I had planned to make this year. But we certainly made up for it by putting plenty of hours on the dinghy. Making the transition to a center console this year was really enjoyable for us. We had a lot of fun exploring spots we'd never take the big boat.

On my list of winter projects will be the addition of a few more tie-down spots for the dinghy. I'm still not 100% comfortable with how much it moves when it gets a little bumpy.

Well my season is officially over as well. My marina is shutting off the water, electricity and closing the fuel pumps today, lol. 6 fuel filters, 3 oil filters and 13 gallons of oil later engines are all serviced. Only got to enjoy the 400 for a few weeks but it was awesome! Such an easy boat to control around the docks with the diesels and a bow thruster.

Looking forward to 2022 and taking her to the North Channel.

For anyone DIY winterizing, this worked amazingly well. I borrowed from a friend - big 10 gallon bucket with a valve and length of 2” hose. I put it right on the sea strainer inlet. Not a drop of AF in the bilge and only had to run for about 15-20 seconds. He bought all the stuff at tractor supply.

north coast prop tech in Ohio did ours. I’m not sure he’s a SR or 400 expert but with the data I gave him he made the perfect adjustments on the first try. Very reasonable prices too

Ditto on North Coast. Great folks, very reasonable and I’m back up to where I should on WOT rpm. Instead of shipping, we made a mini winter vacation out of the prop tune up trip. (Been to Port Huron by boat but never by car) Spent 2 nights at Comfort Inn River’s Edge and we had a blast hanging out at the bowling alley across the street. Great bar food and had fun hanging out with locals, very friendly.

cool! Mine are going back to Ray this winter for a little fix after I dinged something. Didn’t affect performance but it’s so cheap to have him clean, rebalance, finish and fix that ding, so im sending both to them.

Ted,

Have you been to the North Channel before? Not my favorite destination, in my opinion the Bad River is as good as it gets and no need to go any further North.

Hi Brian

I went up this year with our 290DA, I am docked in Lake Simcoe so we did the 30,000 islands up to Key River then across to Killarney. From there we went over to Gore Bay and did a day trip out to the Benjamin Islands. We didn't go into Collins Inlet or the Bad River, I plan to get up to that area in 2022. If we only go as far as Killarney, so be it. We really liked spending time at the lodge!

Beautiful pic BTW!

HUMPH.......I saw in an old post where you had replaced your house bank with 2 Trojan J185H's. I am thinking of doing the same thing and was wondering how this worked for you. Trojan doesn't list CCA on these and I've wondered if 2 of them would start my 8.1's. If they will start your Cats I'm sure I won't have a problem.

For this project, do you remove the original ones, or will you have 2 sets of trim tabs? I am very interested to see how this goes. Can’t wait until April to hear about the results. Good luck!

You keep all 4 and tie them into the existing pump. Folks in the facebook group report a 1-2mph increase at cruise speed, lower bow rise and flatter run angle, better steering, and minimum planing speed of 1700RPM

After reading the horror stories I was prepared for the worst but this job is really not that bad. These sections took about an a hour to come up
