420 DA Thread

Mine is powered by the gfi in the cockpit to the left of cabin door down low.

hope that helps, Rob

Thnx, but I checked all none are it. Going to pull the outlet to see if voltage is feeding it, with the hope the outlet is bad.

Does anybody have an idea where this outlet, which is behind the helm seat and powers the cockpit TV, gets its power from?

It’s a factory installed outlet. All my breakers are on, but it’s dead.

@Captsteve427 - what makes you think it is factory installed? That would surprise me. My money would be on a PO installing it (which means it could be fed from anywhere). You might have to trace the wire.

I don't have that outlet but directly behind that outlet on the floor was my outlet for plugging in that TV. Take that access panel off and look way far to the left on the floor.

I'm assuming it's factory, since I have the build sheet on the boat, showing it was built with the optional cockpit TV.

Yup I believe it is factory. Ive got the same exact gray outlet in the exact same place. Im not positive but is there a GFCI at the helm down at your right ankle, next to the VHF external speaker? It may be popped and associated with the outlet your asking about.

I do have an outlet there, but it' not a GFI and it's live. I guess I'll have to wait to here back from Sea Ray's engineering department, since I couldn't find this dead outlet on the wiring diagram in the owners manual.

Does anybody know how to remove the freezer ? It comes almost halfway out and then something is holding it back, can’t figure out how to access behind the freezer.View attachment 113725 View attachment 113726
The freezer shares wiring with the fridge….maybe something is snagged…..pop out the fridge to see what’s going on….both should slide out easily…… note the cooler filled with beer before you do :)

OK I’ll pull out the refrigerator after I drink all the beer, then I’ll see if I can access the back side of the freezer. It does feel like the condensation drain because it feels rubbery.

I don’t have a drain hose on either of the units

So, after a call to Sea Ray (who didn't have a wiring diagram of my boats factory installed 110-volt outlet for the cockpit television) and a lot of trouble shooting, I found the cause of the dead outlet. The prong on the outlets neutral wire pushed out the back of the outlet, which BTW is protected by the GFI in the galley cabinet, to the left of the sink and behind the cook top. Thnx for everybody's input!

My 2007 also had the cockpit TV receptacle your talking about. You are correct it does not show on the wiring diagram but every other outlet does.

Its on page 151 of the owners manual PDF, drawing #6.49.1 labeled incorrectly as "AC wiring 220V-50Hz", it is indeed the same as my 120v-60Hz 44DA was.
