460 DA Owners Thread

So thinking I might have one of my pumps out then. I didn’t really have a problem with water pressure. But when playing with the switches I noticed only one seems to run with the sink on. Doesn’t really matter if I have the other one on. Is the idea that two pumps just give better pressure? Maybe if you’re running both showers at the same time they’ll both kick on? Is one a main and the other a slave? Sorry, now it’s just got the rabbit cage in my head spinning out more questions...

They should both come on simultaneously, at least they did in my case. There isn't a pressure switch that flips one of them on when the requested water gets low. There is only 1 pressure tank and it supplies the entire system.

If you turn the switch off to the pump that is working, then turn the other switch on and no water flows, you have a bad pump it would seem. I don't know of any fuses between the switch and the pump to check for, but that could be a possibility if one was put in line near the pump. Note: some water will flow when the pump isn't on as it has pressure in the lines, but if the water stops flowing with a faucet open and no pump comes on...bad pump.

Hope that helps and you find a new water pump in your stocking tomorrow morning. :)

Yep, except 2 give more volume when one can’t keep up with demand and pressure drops, not more pressure.
I suppose you could have a faulty pump but both my pumps are exactly the same, one just has a slightly less pressure switch tolerance and only comes on when we have multiple faucets open at the same time creating a pressure drop from the one pump not meeting demand.
Item of caution: when winterizing, run both pumps separately while pumping pink through your system otherwise if you are experiencing the same scenario as my boat, the pump that only runs when multiple faucets are open will not get pinked. To check, just switch the pumps on separately.

great tip! I just keep the heat on down here in TN. Going to be 70 this weekend. Christmas cruise!

I appreciate this group. A wealth of knowledge so far and I’ve barely read through the posts. Now I have to figure out how to change my screen name after moving over from the 370 owners page... Merry Christmas!

Hi everyone! I had to pass on the one with the water intrusion issue. But flying down to Ft Myers this evening to go sea trial another one that looks like it’s going to be a go. Mew survey done and passed. and settled on price. Just have to see it in person to close the deal. I’m excited to officially join this thread!

So a random question, anyone know where to buy the matching captains chair? The previous owner changed to a high back style that I’d like to covert back...
OR, crazy as this sounds, what do you think about trying to extend the bench across the captains seat for a longer bench? Anyone done so?
The previous owner of mine did 3 captains chairs and we love it.
Like so

Looks like a few of us are in the process of electronics, again. (But when you love the boat and don't want to sell or trade, you must do the updates to keep her modern.)
I tried an F.P. panel last fall for the "Accessory" area to port because I was switching from Classic E screens to Axiom/Axiom Pro MFDs. (The dash might be different in the 2002-5 versions vs '01 and earlier.) Anyways, I made the mistake of trying to do the instrument cutouts myself because I wasn't exactly clear on the spacing of the two screens. Well, I got a slight delamination of the panel in the process and that wasn't acceptable. So I spoke with Technografic at FLIBS in November and I have been working with Sam Sladon. Their panels are thicker and of course more expensive but I had them do all the laser cutting. Doing a trial fit in a couple of days to see how they look.

@Jaws
curious if you got this done on your 01 to fit two axiom screens. Wanting to do the same and just not sure how to go at it. Would be great if someone had a template to make the two panels into one and make them level/flush...

Ours is an '02 and might be a different dash than the '01. It has a larger flat area so I could fit two 12" Axiom screens.

Do you leave your fresh water heater (Kuuma) on when connected to shore power? Or do you turn off during extended time away from the boat?

Off. Only on when we are going to use it.

Use the heater only when you are with the boat. I once had the temp switch fail and the heater stayed on. Noticed when turning on the hot water it was too hot.

Hi folks. Starting to get my list of stuff together for spring time.

Anyone here know what size wiper blades our 460's use and where to buy them? Are they 28"?

Thank you!

I ordered mine from Defender.com
551041WIP-28" Roca W Series Wiper Blade
They were a bit pricey but worked great.

The 2nd pair I ordered from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000JZL1U4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I had to do a little modification to the attachment point (make it bigger), but they have worked great since summer of 2019.

28” and Walmart cheap brand works fine. They have to have a hole in the middle. Take an old one with you and you will understand.

Hi All - just purchased (and about to pickup) Sundancer 515 (you know them as 460's) but over here in NZ it's a 515.
Is there anywhere I can get a manual as I am not sure the handover will be all that good and there seems to be a LOT of buttons. I am a bit nervous about the sequences in which things need to be done.
Thanks - Clint

Clint, I have the parts and owners manual in pdf form but they are to large to upload here. PM me an email address and I'll send them.

Anyone know where I can order replacement shower drains for the 46? My buddies are in bad shape and wants to replace. Looks like a 1 piece assembly. FP does not have them. Suggestions?

My 460 has sliding tambour doors in the galley, and most of the glides on the top and bottom of the doors have broken. I know there have been posts about replacing the tambour doors with new units, and I have tried to find a source to no avail. But for those of you who have the same problem of broken glides and want to keep the original doors, my son created a CAD file that can be fabricated with rapid prototype. They are outrageously expensive (there are 100 of the little buggers!), but its only boat dollars...
