48 DA Owners Club

So my "new to me" 2007 48DA is great (moved up from the 420DA). Getting my hands around the SmartCraft display. It appears that at 90% RPM (2350 RPM), I am running at 68% (port) and 72% (starboard) load. I think I'd like to cruise at 80% load. To achieve loads of 78% (port) and 82% (starboard), I need to run at 2480 RPM. WOT RPM is 2670 and 2680 RPM. Question - is the Smartcraft display accurate? Should I run her at 80% load or at the 2350 RPM (~70% load). I don't mind the extra fuel consumption, but want to be sensitive to the motors. What say the "experienced"?

When of my shower lights went out and needs to be replaced. How do I take the old one out? I twisted and pulled and it comes down a little but I don’t want to force it and break it. Thanks .

Where were you able to find the Stainless Steel ring for the AC water exhaust? Where did you buy the next mattress? Thanks Ray

For the AC water exhaust I bought a Southco M7-05-9205772 Stainless Steel 3 Inch Boat Exhaust Thru Hull from Great Lakes Skipper, and then cut off the back side and removed the flapper. I attached it with 5200, and fill in the gap on the back side with the same. I used the extra flapper to replace one of the ones that was missing on one of my actual exhaust ports. To get a really good fit, I ground down the exterior lip of the gel coat slightly as well.

I bought my mattress from www.bed4boats.com I went with the Huron model, and added the extra micro coils on top as well. Tom Buis is who I worked with. Feel free to PM me if you need more info.

It's spring loaded so it does require a bit of pressure to pull it down but be careful as you pull it out, the spring will clamp down hard on your fingers like a mouse trap. I replaced one of mine two years ago and learned my lesson and also the replacement isn't cheap.

If you are buying glasses you should consider Ross Marine Ideas. I just bought 100 glasses with my boat name and a drawing of my 48 Sundancer on them . They had the artwork and did a very good job on the order.

On my 48 the cabin door is hard to operate. Seams to be dragging. Has anyone tried to adjust it somehow?

Clean the tracks and spray in dry lubricant. There are no rollers just sliding blocks and they bind up with dirt. Go under the helm to clean the back end of that track.

Thank you
I’ll give that a try.

Piz, Welcome to the 48 Sundancer forum I see you are a new member did you recently acquire your boat? Where is your home port?

Port at Lake of the Ozark but boating in the northeast.

I have lost all power to my hydronic swim platform. Is there a master fuse or circuit breaker somewhere. My solenoid will in the bilge does not have any lights on it and the switch in back by the platform does not do anything. Any ideas?

Most likely the latching solenoid. You can try and use jumper leads to connect the two sides. If you get power to the unit then that's your problem.

It sounds like what mine did when we were doing the survey, and the remote shorted out. If I remember correctly it was the fuse. I believe the fuse is in lower left hand of the pic ph321 provided.

Planning for the winter haul (boo) on my 2007 48DA. Anyone have a list of oil filters, fuel filters for the mains and racors, transmissions, and genset? Also, what weight oil does everyone use (Ohio boat)?

For those of you that have E120’s do you have a separate underwater transducer for that unit and another one for the engine system monitor?

I don't believe so, my depth does not read unless my master E120 is powered up and then my second E120 and the smart craft (vessel View) can both show depth. I am not sure what you are referring to as the engine system?

I guess what I’m trying to determine is can you see the contour bottom on your E120 screens or do you just see the depth in a numerical reading ? I am replacing both screens and radar with new Raymarine Axiom Pro 12 and Mangum radar my installer says to see the contours on the screens I need a second transducer.

I think your installer maybe right? Sonar?
