500/520 DB official thread

I believe you can set a zone to fixed line out for another amplifier's volume control. Settings > Zone > Volume Control - clear the option. Might only be available for zone 3 but I don't know.....

I gotcha. I use all of the (3) outputs for the Amplifier input zones. Have to reconsider.

Side note - I do have a intermittent issue with the starboard engine dropping the gauges while running but more often the starboard engine cuts off a minute or two after start up.

I posted earlier today that I believe I fixed my intermittent Starboard Smartcraft gauge issues by spraying the Smartcraft Connectors with some corrosion inhibitor.

I believe, the corrosion also could have been causing my starboard engine to cut itself off (always within a couple minutes of cold start up). However, I also think replacing the Racor Filters could have fixed the engine to shutdown when cold.

Since I have replaced the Racors and cleaned the Smartcraft connections I haven’t had those symptoms reoccur.

I have only had (12) or so start ups this season but last year the shutdowns were pretty consistent...

Are these the connections at the motor or in the overhead on the bridge?

So far I have only sprayed the Smartcraft connections under the dash and in the overhead. I plan to do the ones on the engines soon.

Thanks, I will check those connections as a maintenance item.

Didn’t know I had a Wireless Glendenning Control System. We had a extra identical controller for the hydraulic platform but the PO said it was for the platform.

Was working in the engine compartment and saw the receiver above the cable bucket. Followed the programming instructions and bam... we have a remote for the Shore Power cord.

cool find...

I'm having trouble the salon door being difficult to close. It requires a good deal of force to get it to close all the way so it can be locked. Has anyone experienced this, and how did you adjust it?

When I got my boat last year mine was a little difficult to open and close. I took it off and lubed up the trucks on the top and bottom and that did the trick. There are holes on the top and bottom that you can put a screw driver through to get to the adjustment screw in the trucks. If you adjust them all the way loose then you can take the door off. Beware the door is very heavy so have some help. The trucks on mine where rusty and corroded so I cleaned them up and lubed them. I think they were a bit out of adjustment as well and that was causing them to bind a bit.

I lost both thrusters the other day and can’t find the breaker, the yacht controller still operates the bow thruster only anyone know where it is? The Vetus pad does not light up but beeps when I hit the panel rocker. I wasn’t on the thrusters a lot just moving the stern closer to the dock my wife couldn’t reach.

Same thing happened to me last summer. The breakers are in the main panel just forward of the batteries. There are 4 knobs in the corners to take the cover off. I think the panel is gray PVC.

Thanks Jeremy, good to know. SR could not have put the breakers in a better location to get to quickly when docking lol

I'm having trouble with my salon door - it slides just fine, but it requires a lot of force to close so that it latches and can be locked.

I spent 2 frustrating hours yesterday trying to troubleshoot. I followed Taylormade's video for adjusting the trucks, which helped a little bit:

After close examination, I'm wondering if the weather stripping is the problem (see photo). I suspect that part of it gets in the way of the door closing (especially in the 2nd photo).

It doesn't look factory, and I'm wondering if any of your 520s have the weather stripping?
