I’m new to SeaRay and new to this large of a boat in terms of my own, but I did spend a couple years as a marine tech installing electronics though. I have resided and custom built an instrument panel for my Bayliner.
Anyway, I picked up a 1976 Sea Ray Weekender 300 in a barn. It’s winterized and won’t be in the water this year but I was hoping to start flipping switches and testing bilge pumps / lights etc. to get an idea of what I’m into next spring.

In the compartment under the deck by where the fuel tanks are it appears as there are hookups for 4 batteries, two port and two starboard. I’ve followed wires from the battery switch and none of them look large enough to power the helm instruments and cabin lights. I hooked a single battery up to each side independently and was not able to get power at any of the switches at the helm or any lights in the cabin. I feel like I am missing something easy though. Is there a house battery somewhere else on this boat that I’m missing?

Found the breaker on the engine. All good.

Northern Michigan. The new one will be kept in Cheboygan close to Lake Huron. My Bayliner is currently kept inland.

It’s been fun going through the boat so far. This weekend we cleaned the name off of the back and discovered a hailing port of what looks like Sager Key but google turns up nothing by that name.
