Good evening all.
I want to update my 330 to NMEA2000 and I know fox marine has the gateways now. BOE said they would not do the install, trying to find a great shop to install the gateways, get nmea2000 install 2 7”Raymarine for the digital gauges and update my old Raytheon POS with a new 12” Raymarine setup for GPS/radar. Want to know a good place who can do the install and fabricate the helm to look awesome.

thanks all. I have the 7.4 inboards.

You should probably post this in the electronics forum where you will get more visibility. But the Fox gateway, if your engines support it, can be installed yourself. It is only a matter of cable connections for the most part.

If you use Maretron DSM410's or Garmin GMI20's you can replace your tach's with those gauges. This would be a fiberglass free install. From there pretty much anyone would be able to help you out. If you really want the dash cut up and gauges moved around etc. it is going to cost you a premium. I would say on the order of 10K based on what your wanting. If the dash doesn't need to be cut up and custom plates etc. needed it will drastically reduce the cost.

The 7" Raymarine Axiom displays may not be exactly what your looking for as far as data it is capable of displaying. You may want to research the GMI20 or the DMS410 as they display all of the engine data your looking for.

I posted it in here to get recommendations around MD for a shop that will do the install since my normal shop won't

trying not to cut up the dash too much to cut down the cost, just want to have more parameters available than analog. I know you can tear out the analog and replace with 2 7" with a custom face, Ill take a look at the GMI20 to replace also. Thanks

MiddleRiver here, I don’t know anyone. Try calling some of the bigger dealers, marinas. I’d be very surprised if they don’t have electronics folks they deal with. Try Marine Max downtown. Joppatowne Marina, there are big ones at Kent Island and South River.

I tried over the winter to schedule having my dash re-gelcoted and I had everyone anyone could have said could do the job and not less than five people showed up to quote and zero said they would do the job for less then 10K. I ended up wrapping it myself.

So I would recommend doing it yourself or at least just swapping out the gauges with the newer N2K ones that require no or limited cutting. JMO, but I have done a lot of this on many boats.

I think you are looking at substantial lead times no matter who you go with. All the shops seem to be quite busy tricking out all the center consoles bought during the pandemic. I would resign myself to getting the work done over the coming winter but certainly line it up now. A little further south of Annapolis, there is MTS at Herrington Harbor North. Also, the Sea Ray dealer in Shady Side, Clark's Landing, certainly has the capability and their electronics guy was quite good the last time I used them. If you haul out for the winter, either place has good rates and the installer will be able to work on your boat at their leisure and not charge you for travel time (same is true at the places Pirate Lady mentioned).
Agree with Orlando there is a lot you could tackle on your own, but that's up to you. One task you might consider is to work out your new dash layout and get the panels fabricated. Either Flounder Pounder or Tecnografic, both site sponsors, would work with you on this. It's been my experience that installers will either go to one of those (or similar) companies anyway or only be able to cut crappy stock panels that won't match the original. There's four to six weeks lead time on panels and having them ready up front and letting the installer just focus on wiring is a good way to go IMO.

Appreciate the thoughts. Def think I will plan it over winter. I talked to tecnografic not long ago and they had the dash layouts for the 2 7" to replace the analog if I go with them. I will reach out MTS and SR shady side about the conversion and install.

Thanks everyone. Coming from wakeboarding boats to sea ray has been fun, but the customization is alot more limited, and if not its 100xs the cost, ha.
