How can I get to behind dash to do some wiring? I'm guessing its from the head, there is a panel on that wall but cant seem to get it off, no screws or velcro.

You are correct, it is that panel in the head. Push in on the panel and then push down on it.

Well I got the panel off and have access to the back of dash and various wiring. Electric is not my specialty, I'm trying to wire my transducer cable for a (p79). The cable has a hot wire with in line fuse and a white ground witha bunch of other wires for I think other devices.
Question is a ground bar behind dash, but I'm not sure where the hot wire would connect to? THere is another bar, but I don't know if its the hot side? Seems strange all the connections are exposed with just ring terminals screwed into it????

Get a wiring diagram for the unit you are installing and the boat. Also, invest in a quality volt/ohm meter for the boat. If electric is not your specialty, maybe find someone a little more comfortable with it before you go hooking up to what you think things are. That is a good way to hurt yourself or other, as well as damage expensive items.... just my .02.
More boats and cars are ruined by shadetree electrical work than you can imagine.
Ok, I'm off my soap box. Seriously, get some help if you don't know what you are looking at.

Did it look like this?
