MaryKate "On-Off": The hydrochloric acid is in a persistent (like the KGB uses on doorknobs) bluish syrup. Brushed it on with China bristle and hauled the boat into the drive to rinse with electric pressure washer. Just brushing off with pail of water was not effective. Happy with the visible result:

HCL is one of the easiest ways to clean a hull. Can be hard on the trailer and you really need to hose down the driveway after using it. Look at the concrete at the marinas where this work is done and you will see why.

The thick consistency of this product allowed me to apply with a paintbrush with confidence that I was not splashing it on unprotected surfaces. Yes, tarped off trailer. Had a gallon of muriatic acid from the masonry dept at Home Depot for years but declined to use water like product for fear of damage I might do.

Cleaned garage floor with baking soda mix. Looked like a hippy girl's jeans. Then I had brain freeze but am back after recalling the admonitions of the Jesuits.
