There is a justifiable concern about the size of pic being uploaded to the server to be included in the gallery. Understandable because space is limited.

In the forum, this is mitigated by permitting pics to be associated with a mesage via a link to another site such as photo-bucket. Good solution. Forum messages also seem to allow ANY size pic (oops, didn't mean to expose that).

Why not enhance the gallery to allow url links as well? That way, larger/better resolution pics can be shared without any space being used at all.

Because those links expire at some point when the users account they are linked to expires or the user decides to delete the image on teh otehr site leaving a bunch of blank links on our site.

Pics used on websites do not need to be hi res as monitors are not good enough to support it. Also, pics don't need to be any wider than 800 px otherwise users need to scroll left and right to view them.

If you want to upload pics just go to the gallery and hit the "upload" button. I have tried to explain this every which way in all of the pm's we had go back and forth. I am just unclear on the crusade to totally change the way images are viewed on this site. If you are unable to make your images the right size download the Microsoft Powertoy Image Resizer (do a google search for that to find it). 3 easy clicks to reize an image.
