has anyone found a better alternative to the standard Vacuflush pump? Ours handles liquid fine, but thats it!
Thanks

Do tell..... what does it do with the other?

Have you already installed new duck valves?

There is a vacuum test that can be performed to insure the pump and vacuum sensor is functioning properly.

New duck bills, new bellows, everything.
Has great suction and only takes 20 secs to flush and complete.
But “solids” easily gets trapped in the two seconary duck bills, preventing them from sealing.

Little Ducky is spot on a vacuum test gauge is required and a call to the Boat Doc@Marine Discounters-should be an easy fix-good luck-Merry Christmas

I'd keep at the system until it works rather than replace, sounds like something simple. Maybe vacuum is too low, a restriction between duckbills and holding tank, is holding tank vent/filter free breathing, not enough water added to bowl first when depositing solids.

Are you using marine grade toilet paper. Regular paper has fiber in the weave that may clog the duckbills.

Is it possible you might have a restriction in the hose from the discharge side of the pump to the holding tank ? Some years ago when my kids were young, i had a similar situation and found a shampoo bottle cap would get stuck once in a while in the radius of a elbow that dumped into the holding tank ! Good luck

I'd keep looking for an issue with the system, as others have mentioned above. The system works very well for thousands and thousands and thousands of people. If the diagnosis of the issue is not something you're comfortable with, then hire someone. Yes, you'll pay someone to do the work, but the amount of money will be considerably less than redesigning the entire system... not to mention the time and effort you'd put into it.

Or... eat more fiber? I mean, if there's a "log jamb" at those duckbills...

I suppose testing the vent should done. If there was back pressure on the outter duckbills, maybe that would cause a problem while still producing very good vacuum on the primary side. Ive replaced the filter, but thats all on the secondary side.
Thanks for all the suggestions!
Happy Holidays!
