Does anyone have the performance numbers for an Amberjack 290 with 6.2L motors. Trying to see what WOT and cruising speed RPMS should be and any fule usage numbers. Thank you!

Hi neighbor. I’m surprised no one has jumped in yet but until they do, I’ll add my thoughts. The 290 AJ was optioned with stern drives or V drives. Since you are looking at twin 6.2’s (320HP) I’ll assume your looking at a stern drive boat with Bravo 3’s. That would be a rare find since most came with twin 5.0’s (260hp) or 350 Mags (300HP) When we bought our 300DA we tested out a 290AJ with twin 350 Mags. The boat jumped right up on plane and was fast. I think I remember about 47-48 WOT. The boat your considering will be a rocket ship. I would guess 50 MPH WOT is possible, 4800-5200 RPM and burning about 49 GPH. At the end of the day my twin 350’s averaged about 1.2-1.4 MPG. Are you rack storing or keeping in a slip? Good luck and hope to see you on the water some day!

Thank you neighbor! You are correct Bravo III's. I plan on keeping the boat on a rack at sportsmans. It's been on a rack all of it's life. I hope it all checks out well. Look at records this week in hopes to see some maintenance on the 2003 outdrives over the years. New Risers and manifolds were recently installed. Seems like seeing how it's propped (max RPMS) and compression test will be the main signs we'll look at. I'll keep the thread updates on any motor specs I discover in cse it can help the next guy.

Nice! We're over at Barbers. Did you sell the 400DB or are you looking for something smaller? Beachin the boat at Floribama or Fort McRee is going to be much easier now. :) Good luck with the surveys and inspections!

The 400 Sedan Bridge is sold, and down south now. I had planned on trying to go 12 months without a boat...I lasted 2 weeks before moving on this one. I loved the Sedan Bridge - it was just time to change things up a bit. It was a lot of boat to keep up. Just storing out of the water with the next one may help reduce a little maintenance. Bridog I look forward on meeting on the water.

How far down South is it? Coming from N.J, I thought we ARE down South? Haha
With the AJ...those Redfish don’t stand a chance now.

These are Sea Ray's published numbers on the 6.2L B3 combo in stock form (and of course, a light load). Brian pretty much nailed it, though: 45-49mph @ 5200rpm
