Good morning all - I seem to have an anchor electrical issue with my 2006 320DA. Seems I cannot operate it from the helm nor from the foot switches by the anchor. No helm light on when I press the anchor power button. No blown fuses, no tripped breakers.

So, what should I be checking?

I would start with the schematics and a volt meter.

What windless is on your boat?

Did you check the little 5 amp fuse that makes the controls work?

I have a relay mounted on the bulkhead wall in the E.R. and it has a small fuse in it... Per Ducky possibly a 5 amp I do not recall myself.

Owners manual section 6.12 indicates "windlass breaker (with option)" - didn't notice that or try and look for it when checking the main breakers in E.R. I will check that, would be nice if thats all it is!

So it looks like I should be able to verify (no) power going to the control module up front in the windlass locker. If that has power, it seems the foot buttons should at least work. If that has no power, must be a fuse or breaker or bad wire (not likely).

There should be a switch/relay or a large fuse somewhere in the engine compartment. Just and a buddy with a 280 have the exact problem, he found a breaker type switch that was tripped. It happened when his anchor was hung up and he pulled on it to long with the windlass. Good luck

Think I've found the issue. In the engine room, there is a 100amp breaker which is fine, but no power going into or out of it. Upstream there is a relay or solenoid that feeds this relay. I can hear (I think) this part click, but no power comes out of it no matter which way I toggle it. The control panel at the helm can control this relay and I have power to the helm control for the anchor. So I'll order a relay and likely thats the fix. The current part looks bad, corroded and rusted.

Here's the part:

(seems image embedding may not have worked for me? Above link will work for those who are curious)

Let us know if that gets you fixed up. Sounds like it probably will.

Yes, will keep people posted. Part ordered, was about $35 from RV place, same part number. Looks like a drop-in replacement.

OK - that was the issue. It's a simple part replacement job, anchor back to working perfect again!

I’m having the same issue with my anchor. I’m going to try and bypass the solenoid and see if it fires up, thanks for posting what fixed your problem!
