Another bar weekend?

That’s what we thought last weekend when it was suppose to rain Friday thru Sunday….. my daughter was here with her family…we went anyway. We got bombarded with text messages making fun of us when we were spotted on the camera at Miller’s from people that never left the dock. It turned out Friday cleared up, Saturday and Sunday were perfect….only one summer this year push thru rain or shine.

Hoping for a break in there somewhere. We invited neighbors out to watch the fireworks and so far Sunday night looks okay. So far

we headed 75-80 miles down river to a bar, the forecast has already improved. a little rain is not going to shut down our good time.

There’s people at the marina that never leave their docks cause “it’s too windy or there’s a chance of rain..” If you wait for the perfect day then you’ll never go boating. The season is too short to wait for the perfect day. Cheers to you for going still. I would’ve done the same. Good captains are made on rough seas.

I'm going to the lake this weekend NO MATTER WHAT, even with record high temp's in the INW. I will make my own wind if I have to. It's nice to have a boat big enough to make its own shade

Well Captains, looks like another shot holiday weekend, just like memorial day weekend. Rain Wednesday thru Monday. Anybody gonna venture out?
Recheck the weather looking better. with only Friday looking the worst, we will be out and about, heading to Solomons on Moday

For the past week I've listened to the wife worried about the forecast calling for nothing but rain for our big trip.

I finally said, stop looking at the weather as you can't change it. We ended up heading out on our 85 mile trip a day late to take advantage of 1ft or less waves vs 3-5s. And it's only been one light afternoon shower - perfect time to take a nap!

Life's short, I'm not letting an iffy forecast get in the way! That said, I've NEVER seen this marina this empty...

The forecast looks good to me other than 50% chance on Friday. We're heading to Solomons Friday through Sunday, Cape Charles, Deltaville and Shipwright Harbor next week.

Still going to Hyatt River Marsh for Friday -> Monday. Only Friday looks a bit iffy with .33" of rain possibly ... Not sitting this out again ...

Yep they changed it. Now if i can get the boat fixed we will travel. Should running tomorrow. This heat is killing my poor mechanic. I told him take day off, finish early morn, he didnt argue.

Sunday looks OK, but we have to watch the river. The Kanawha river which we boat on is feed by the New River and the Gauley. Heavy rain is predicted down south. Hope we can get out of the slip on Sunday. Fun fact the new flows north as does the Kanawha.
