We're from Waterford, I'm originally from Stonington area, our boat is currently at Brewers Deep River. Curious if any members of these forums are in those area, names of boats, maybe we'll see ya out there.

Yes! We are just north of you in Chester right by the ferry.
Boat name Daisy Lou often times on a mooring ball in Hamburg Cove.
Looking to shoot across the sound on Saturday for an overnight with friends. (Not sure where yet)

Ahh we were moored in Hamburg Cove Sunday for about an hour until I heard the thunder start coming in from north west, at which point we shot out of there shortly after the 2nd thunder clap. Got tied up at our dock and about 10 minutes later the massive downpour started.
Saturday we passed your marina..took a ride up to the Haddam bridge by the opera house.

Question about Hamburg Cove...I see many of those "rental" moorings, $25 a day. Doing some research online seem to be from Cove Landing? Do they come around in a launch to collect? Or can you get a season pass?

Ours is currently still named "Going Coastal" from prior owner but we plan to rename her...not 100% settled on a name yet.

Yup! I decided to wash my boat and as I was filling my bucket the thunder started. I was hoping it would stay North, as you know it didn't. I was blamed for the torrential downpour since I was the only idiot washing their boat.
Saturday was our Dinghy Poker Run, did you see all us crazy people out there?

Hamburg Cove has about 10 - 12 rental balls, all the rest in the cove are private so you might be asked to leave if the owner shows up and your on their ball.
There is a small boat that comes around in the late afternoon to collect the $25. "Can Do" is the name. You should also know if you have other boats rafted up to you on that same ball they charge each boat $25. We always get one or two boats complaining about that, however, I hear that's how its done on Block as well and for $25 how can you complain? You can dinghy further into the cove to Cove Landing and get ice (honor system) and toss your garbage in their dumpster.
Hope to see you out there.

Thanks for the info, I'll inquire at Cove Landing....if they offer a summer/season pass I'll jump on that.
Understood about private moorings....I'll probably veer away from that. I just saw many of the white "Rental $25.00" balls....a good amount were open/avail Sunday. (not 4th of July weekend though!..it was jam packed in there!)

Pretty sure I saw that name this past Sunday in Hamburg Cove...

that was probably me. Can't remember if it was that Sunday or the Sunday before. About the moorings, Hamburg cove is somewhat unique in that you can grab someone's mooring. Just stay with the boat if someone asks you to move. there is usually many free moorings even on the weekends. I've only had to move 1 or 2 times in 14 years....

I'll be heading up Ct river this Wednesday but on jets skis so when we go by Seldons creek I will look for your boat.

Just back from a great day on the Ct river on my jet ski.

I had never gone into your marina before. It looks quite nice. Your boat and graphics look great!

You did a putt by our B dock? Tight fairway huh? 40 foot fairway, it's a handful coming in and doing a 90* reverse turn in a 33 foot boat when the river is pumping down at 6 knots. You end up staring at anchors and stainless steel props across your fairway...lol.

I did - actually I went down the dock to your stern also to get a better view of the new graphics. I think a slip or two was empty so I could see better. That river can move for sure- I wasn't paying attention for one minute and realized I was drifting into the dock quickly. Thankfully my seadoo is agile and only took a quick pop to spin around.

Will likely be down at the boat again next week (weather permitting) ...enjoy probably our last weekend on it til the yard hauls her and we begin the wintering process. Swing by if you're putting around on the sled again.
