Thinking about installing a couple of the Typhon lights in blue on the transom as in the youtube video. $49.00 bucks. Your thoughts welcome. Thanks in advance

Scares me. Anything other then a bronze plug should go there. Plus you pretty much get what you pay for.

I originally had cheaper under water lights, TH Marine, I had six light bars of 6 led's each. They looked ok, but over time they turned to crap. The only way IMO to have under water lighting is to spend the money to get nice lights. I ultimately went with Lumitec X2's. Very glad I did, they are very bright and look awesome. You do get what you pay for. There are others that are equally as bright and nice as well @dtfeld has a thread on his lights.

My Sea Ray doesn't have a drain plug so I'll have to do it the old fashioned way. Just haven't pulled the trigger yet...

Just something to think about, the "plug light" while at the dock is like not having a light at all, virtually nothing. If you notice all of the "plug light" videos is when the boat is moving on plane, the light is out of the water at that point so it is much brighter, that along with the white water turbulence makes them look a lot nicer then they are.

I never understood the expense or desire to light up water…. If I want to see a fish I’ll look during the day :)
