No, but I will follow with interest as that has been an idea of mine as well.

Sounds like a great idea. I may look into that for the DB. Just need to find a good alternative for flat screen tv location. The Mrs won’t stand still for no tv in salon.

There are a few different folks who a major TV mod, the first of which that comes to mind is MasterFab (Dale). He made a custom drop-down mount for a 340DA (IIRC, for year models late 90s early 00s, though it might be compatible for other years/other models) and has sold more than one to fellow members. It goes on the starboard bulkhead above the aft berth.....and you can put a plenty-big TV in that space! (And gadgets in the old TV cubby, if you're not totally sold on bar/wine area!)

This post is from 2015, and he's since moved on from his 340, but I believe he still fabricates various items, so it's worth a shout.

And I sell those brackets, so if you want to put a TV on your aft cabin bulkhead, let me know. There are a couple tricks to routing the cables that save a lot of time too - it's really not that bad. Then, you can use the empty cubby for storage, or make it into a blender/food processor area like I did.

I am sorry - but what keeps coming to mind when I read the title - is the country song - going to hire a wino to decorate our home.

Take the dining room table out - put a bar up against the wall...

I know, total distraction from the thread, and really good input...

backing slowly away from the thread...

I did a TV delete and store liquor in the cubby. Haven't modified it much yet other than adding a bungee anchored in the back to hold things in place while underway. Searching for better ideas as well. Flat screen over the mid-stateroom seems to be the way to go. A friend did it on his 320 and it's the nutz.

Check out this thread and the slides for the TV Cubby:

Personally, I just use the cabinet above the salon sofa for bottle storage. I plan on having a door made and converting the TV cubby to closed storage when I redo my TV setup this winter. I just wish there was an easy way to recover the space above it where the DVD player is installed - I liked the door setup there better on the 2003.5 and wish they kept it that way.

We have an espresso machine and coffee grinder in there. Held in by a webbing strap when underway. Works great. Just the right size. We don't watch TV, but we do drink espresso and latte.

We replaced out TV with a flat screen. Mounted the TV on a swing arm so the TV acts as a door. Lots of room behind the door and we still have a TV.

Thanks for the Ideas. I stole KSalibis Idea...Thanks:p. Just started it today. I think I'm going to paint it black, put a nice front plate and led lights inside the cabinet.

Well..I might scrap it and go back to the drawing board. It may have been a mistake using MDF. It looked good at first, but I can't get it real smooth. I'm afraid of chips putting the bottles in and out. It does look much better than the pictures too. I primed it with the correct sealer primer before painting, but I still don't like it. I think I'm going to try OAK and then a black stain instead of paint. We'll see...Gonna eat my bird today and think about it.

You do beautiful work... Is this for the 340? I was looking for the measurements for the 320 was curious if its the same size? And i'm debating on going with the oak or Composite. ps. Happy Thanksgiving

Not sure if its the same size. You have to pull the tv out and measure. I would suggest using oak. Black flat stain would be perfect. I'll let you know how my second one turns out....
