I've got a slow but persistent leak in my anchor locker. The spigot for fresh water hose connections (water out) has a leak in the elbow. I assumed this was 1/4" so I armed myself with fittings to do the repair last weekend. Upon removal of the existing fittings I realized they are 15mm. Clearly this is not a size that is easily found in the USA. Anybody have any suggestions??

If the fittings aren't broken, you should be able to stop the leak by replacing the o-ring. (in the meantime, I'll be watching this thread because I don't have spare fittings and breakage is inevitable...)

First, remove the lock ring and try pushing the tube further into the elbow. It should go into just about a full inch, or so. If no luck, try fresh water systems dot com. Or possibly a local marine supply store may have them in stock - last I checked, we could get them at the store. I'm not saying buy from us - don't - just that they are available.

FWS has saved me as well. I like the speed fittings with the twist collar very easy to put on and take off. Luke anything they do get brittle over time and fail. I keep a few 90s and a few 3 way tees on board. FWS also has the 15mm hot water heater adapters and the 15mm - 1/2in threaded faucet Connectors.

Shark bite (1/2 inch is actually 5/8 outside , close enough to 15mm) fittings available at Home depot. They will work on the grey pvc tubing as well as the red and blue from pex. Be sure the cut is clean, square, and no scratches on the pvc tubing where it enters the fittings. If it is scratched water will work its way under the o-ring seal.

Sharkbite fits the older grey tubing. Have you had success with the red/blue?

I can tell you the sharkbite 1/2" fittings will not work on the red/blue tubing that was being used in 1999. Not even close to working...

Ohh and by the way...my original post should have said 1/2" and not 1/4". Typo!

I'm away from the boat until this weekend and I'm looking to have Marinemax order new fittings to replace a leaky hose on my fresh water system. Does anyone have any insight as to the proper size of the fittings on an 05 320? What size is the hose and what size is the female threaded end?

We use Pex for all plumbing for repairs. They sell an adapter to mate the gray pipe with the Pex pipe (uses compression rings). Once you make that connection.....the rest is easy.
The push on (Shark Bite) fittings are another story....sometimes they work and sometimes they leak.

freshwatersystems.com carries all of the 15MM fitting you would need.

Stee6043, Wolf's Marine in Benton Harbor will have everything you need, if you are close. It's a place for all things boating at good prices.

Most likely, you have 1/2" on your model year boat. But, it COULD be 15mm. Best way to know for sure is to check your parts manual - or, I'm sure MM can do that, too.

For what it's worth I received 100% outstanding feedback on this thread back when I posted it last year.

It's been resurrected from the dead...but I don't mind since FWS was an awesome company. They deserve some extra clicks...

I just need to replace the main hose that feeds the manifold. I assume I will have to construct the replacement with pex and two female fittings that will thread into the manifold and the water pump. This was the the most relevant thread. I will have to confirm the size of threaded male fittings and give FWS a call.

If you have the red and blue tubing, it's 15mm. If you have the grey stuff it's 1/2"
