Does anyone have a recommendation for a good Chartplotter App for a Droid Tablet? Either free or at a reasonable cost, and I'd rather use the free charts than have to pay for a chart subscription. I only use the boat on the TN River System. Thanks.

MX Mariner. Uses free NOAA charts and any other raster BSB charts you want to load onto it. Also links with Active Captain.

+1 on the Navionics app.
I too am on The Tennessee River and find the app to be pretty dang accurate. Make sure you get the right package,(Inland rivers), the cost is more than fair & should serve you well.

Side note: Remember real time use requires a data connection. If your device is not currently on a plan, check into it before you buy the app.

Active Captian also has an app. 19.95 one time fee and I use it all the time as a backup to my electronics. It is nice to have the chart with GPS with all the Active Captaion markers all in one.

Marine charts by EarthNC was the best I have used as well as the lowest cost. Offers all the features of a full chart plotter. I use it all the time in tandem with my Raymarine MFD...hasn't failed me yet. The developers are on top of it too offering frequent updates.
