Avatars

I am sure I'll be the minority here, but I prefer we leave the avatars off the site. I much prefer an enviornment where people must think about what they are writing and write in English.

Sorry guys, I meant "emoticons" not avatars..........when I attempted to delete or edit the incorrect reference, the new software wouldn't let me do either.

I agree about use proper grammar and content, but how would an avatar have an effect upon writing style?

This site has something called an avatar gallery, but so far, there's nothing in its content.

I notice you are using a photograph of your boat as an avatar. Right now, my software isn't able to reduce the size of my photographs into avatar size--perhaps later on.

I think Frank is thinking about emoticons, those funny faces we use to make little statements.

wish2fish.....ugggggg! I prefer the little boxes with the red X inside.

Midway.....when I saw the error, I attempted to edit the incorrect word but the new software wouldn't let me make a change internal to the post, I could only add a paragraph.....similarly, I couldn't delete a superfulous post. I could only type in "deleted" and left the remainder blank.

Maybe that explains why it appears I lost my mind today!

Frank it is probably a touch of canbote fever, after all you are exposed to a lot of them. This is where I should type ha ha instead of

Oops, I forgot to include any of those emoticons. :smt013
Maybe I include a spelling error, I can fix it later, if editing is working. If this gets updated to remove the spelling errors, then the software is letting editing occur again. But now I don't see a place to enter my 1/4 mile time.

The spell checker in my browser has put a red underline beneath the word 'emoticons'. It does not like them either! :smt018
