    Hi All,
Surprise this morning. Water on floor in my 90 model 350. Turns out leaking Delta kitchen facet. I tried replacing the entire fixture today with a similar Delta unit from Home Depot. Nope. The hoses are to short for connection. They are grey colored with very weird fittings on the end. I would like to extend them thus so I can I extend them and adapt to the new faucet? Home Depot was worthless. Hose is gray colored poly type hose with some grey adapters. Help or in-site very grateful. Thanks

Can you unscrew the brass fitting from the gray plastic fitting? That brass fitting looks like it may be a 3/4” garden hose fitting. If so, adapt it down to what you need. Another possible solution is to cut the hose right behind the brass fitting and find a fitting with a barb and use a clamp.

PEX crimp tool at HD is fairly cheap, and handy to have around. I would cut the supply line 2-3" back from the brass, purchase additional supply line and 4 Barb to Barb fittings, Crimp rings to secure. Use the existing faucet connections at new faucet.

Thanks for this. What is the tubing made of or called? I searched everything trying to identify "type" Poly? Plastic?. Also what size tube does have? 1/2"?

There are different types and sizes of PEX. We actually redid our water system at the boat club with PEX. JMO I would spring for the most expensive type (they sell it by the foot), for the amount you will need. CNY has given you some solid advice.

Your lines are most likely 1/2”, you can cut off the fittings and use “Watts” push on fittings they work perfectly. I have used them on my boat in a couple of places. They are available in brass and plastic and have several types of fittings to suit your needs. Just be sure you follow directions and make sure they are pushed on to the proper depth. If you have to replace any pipe “Pex” is what you want 1/2” its available in clear, red and blue.

Before you spend a lot of money on fittings make sure you don't have the Euro sized pex. I had Euro pex on my 99 340. You can't get fittings that fit those suckers at the local hardware store. Quite frustrating....

"PEX" is the type you want (Various manufacturers), you'll want a flexible not rigid length. With barb fittings, it will not matter what the original pipe is, so you do not have to try to match it. I prefer barbs to push to fit because you've got 5 grab points inside the pipe and a clamp, verses the push to fits, with one grab point and an o-ring seal. I'm guessing at the 1/2", mostly due to the scale in your picture to your thumb and typically faucet supply lines are 1/2". If you want to go Push to Fit, you can get everything you need in the below kit, though it will reduce you to 1/4" supply lines.

I went through this myself while changing out my head.

I had the grey tubing (schedule 40?) that is metric and was able to find push on PEX adapters that converted to 1/2”.

    No crimp tool needed.

I believe it is grey PB piping, which has been phased out for PEX, as is less prone to splitting and other benefits. The schedule of the pipe is the wall thickness standards and if the OP searches Schedule 40 he will probably get PVC or Stainless search results.

WV 320 Dancer - I don't think the OP is looking to re-plumb the supply lines, just extend the existing lines to reach the faucet connections.

That is correct. As the OP please know that I don't plan (at this time) a total re-plumb. Just looking to quickly install the new delta facet with minimal cost and trouble. Thanks everyone

I might be wrong about the metric part.

    I got everything I needed at Lowe’s.

I had the grey on my old boat and I think I remember it being 1/2”. Pretty sure I used Shark Bite fittings from Home Depot and 1/2” Pex when I needed to address some things on that boat.

I think the gray can be bought at any local mobile home parts supplier, and probably fittings to attach to your faucet.Been there done that. You can also change from gray to pex with adapters available at mobile home suppliers.Water line on 86 weekender ,93 bayliner etc.were the same stuff.

mostly installed in the 80s-90s, there was a class action suit against multiple manufacturers of the gray PB pipe. Going to be hard to find anything other than PB fittings, and I can't imagine it would be cheaper than PEX.

"Are Polybutylene pipes banned in the U.S.?

There is no U.S. ban on the use of Polybutylene for piping systems, but PBPSA members have taken the decision not to sell Polybutylene materials or products in North America in view of the outcome of the previous US litigation process."
