My new to me 1989 340 EC was named The Wild Rover which doesn’t suit me at all as I am neither wild, a Rover, nor do I like whiskey or women being a lady so I will rename her “Snowbird” as she has flown south from Cape Cod to Florida where she will remain. My maiden name is Snow and coming from an old maritime family my late Father, Capt Snow, would’ve been pleased, too. I will perform the proper naming ritual as required by Neptune before taking her out.

Just loving the Halifax Harbour Marina here in Daytona Beach. I wish you all fair skies and following seas.

Roller....

My Dixie Wrecked = My Dick's Erect

LOL. I actually thought it was some obscure Southern US reference that I was not getting!

I wonder what the history is of rec boaters making boat names a play on words? I doubt it started with sailing ships, or military vessels.

I looked at a boat once that was named “DILIGAF”.

Do I Look Like I Give A F...

That boat was a POS, so I guess he didn’t.

I wanted to name our boat 'Wetter Is Better'.

The wife said no, it was horrible.

Berth Control

Imagine having to announce those names on the radio to the Coast Guard....

Saw one yesterday. "Liquid Asset". I think there's at least one of those in every shed.

How about this one. Yep I saw it a few years back on a seadoo jet boat. I guess kinda fitting.

She's All Wet.

Ok...I have a few. But first I need to tell this story.

I'm in a chair getting my haircut at a "salon". It's mostly older women and divorcees there during the day and my stylist, I'm a regular, asks what we'll name our new boat. I tell the story of the triple transom boat with "my dixie wrecked" on it....and chuckle. She knows me and knows I'm a joker and will set her up for a joke but proceeds to pronounce it outloud. I'm sinking into the chair turning red and laughing. She only gets louder! She's literally YELLING, "MY DICKS ERECT" in a salon. It's been a while and I still laugh telling that story and remembering all the people in there staring at her. Man I love a bad boat name!

I tried to convince my best friend from high school (last name Goldstein) to name his boat "Knot Sea" since it was fresh water only.

My wife said nair to "Sea Hare". Not sure why but I'm pleased.

For the OG out there how about "Sea Block"? My wife said it wasn't suitable as nothing seemed blocked onboard.

I'll get back to this one, I'm having trouble remembering some of the other ones since I'm chuckling about the blonde stylist yelling obscenities in her salon
.
