Bahamas 2022 Boating Flings Now Open

Tom,

I agree 100% we need a "bail out" plan. We will get into this around January as we get closer. This Fling will sell out with 20 boats and they might expand to 25 max but Tourism dept will get us set up with back up pans if it is too dirty to get straight to Marsh. That could be an issue with 20+ boats will need a safe place to go with several greater than 40+ feet.

I Will check but pretty sure we are clearing at West End and spending the night there to leave early next morning to run to Marsh.
OK sorry, I was referring to the Lucaya trip.

@ocgrant not sure where you ended up on this trip and I was hoping we could meet up somewhere along the line, but I think we are going to do a change of plans. Our plan today is to go into West End May 13th or 14th then head southeast to the Berrys for four or five days and then on down to Eleuthera and see what that is like.

We're planning on going to Abacos leaving June 18 from either Ft Pierce or Stuart. Not 100% sure if we'll stop and clear in at West End, or just go to Great Sale Cay for the night, then Green Turtle the next day to clear in and settle in at Bluff House Marina. Either way we'll be at Bluff House a few nights to start with then venture out and anchor up at different small Cays to enjoy some of that as we work our way west to FL. Plan is to go for close to two weeks.

Tom,
Right now it is looking like leaving the morning of July 7 from Palm Beach to clear and spend the night at West End. July 8th leave West End and head to Green Turtle for for probably 3-4 nights then head to Abaco Beach Resort for another 3-4 nights then it is not set in stone yet if we are heading back to west end and overnighting or heading straight back to FL.

I will get more info on this as we lock it down at the PB Boat show.

I am for sure doing the June 16-19th Bimni fling also as a warm up for the longer Fling

CSR team,

I am excited to be a new boating ambassador to the Bahamas and to promote the up comming 2022 Bahamas flings. I will be hosting the first Bimini fling and the extended fling to the Abacos this year for sure. These are great opportunities for first time crossers as well as experienced cruisers to meet new people and see the Bahamas. The Bahamas tourism board helps manage and plan these trips and this year the excursions are going to be even better. We are already hard at work planning fantastic day trips and events for these flings that give you access to places most crsuisers never see. This years extended fling to the Abacos is filling up quick, we have 11 boats confirmed with only 25 spots. Our Bimini flings are going to be huge and a perfect opportunity for first time crossers in any boat to get a taste of the Bahamas. Get signed up now before it sells out....

I am also starting to plan a seperate "special" August one week Fling to the Exumas. If you are interested please let me know as we are going to put this together if we can get enough interest to go to Staniel Cay for the week.

As always feel free to either post here or PM me any questions....

Hope to see you on a Fling soon!!!!

Hi Grant
New to forum - how do we find out about the status and availability to upcoming flings/getaways?

Dennis

Thanks Grant

anyway to know how many boats are signed up?

Anyone on this forum planning on the upcoming Bimini trips? All my experience is on the west coast of florida and would like to cross with east coast experienced boaters.

Yes I will be doing the first Bimini trip and the Abacos trip this year for sure.

The Bimini trips will be full soon with 25 boats. Abacos has 16 so far and will get to 20 for sure.

Also, is there promo discount code to book the marina? Not sure if we make our reservations or if the group will be submitted together. Thanks for your help.

Glad to have you on board. Bahamas will handle the reservations don’t worry. Your first time crossing?

Yes this will be the 1st time we cross in a boat. So to be clear we mail $75 to the Bahamas and they take care of all our accommodations? It is $120 per night to park at the Big game marina so that doesn't make sense to me. Please explain how all this works. Thanks so much and would it be easier to connect via phone? We live in Deerfield Beach.

Yes you $75 hold your spot and gets you some Bahamas "swag". They take care of the reservations at a discounted "group" rate. You will pay at the marina when you arrive.
