Bahamas Crossing Summer 2021

Maybe I'm missing something but it appears that even if vaccinated a test is still required at the 5 day stay duration. The information in the link is rather unclear and conflicting.

That document is conflicting. Heading says for boaters so to me the first paragraph is what seems to be the latest and accurate information. The one sentence stating “ These rules took effect January 26th” probably should have been removed from the document as the new rules take affect May 1.

So... I wrote to the people who published that article and this was their response.

Dear Mr. Fontana,
The sentence you refer to describes US Government regulations and concerns travelers returning to the US ("The new rules took effect on January 26, 2021 and only applies to air travel into the U.S. The testing regulations do NOT apply to those traveling by boat.").

The entry protocols announced by the Government of The Bahamas - to become effective May 1- relate to people entering The Bahamas from the US.

Best regards,

e to the people who published that article and this was there response. In addition, I've seen other news articles and they simply say that Prime Minister Minnis said if you been vaccinated and 14 days hav passed, not Covid test required.

LOL... Always a X!it Show over there when the change things. Hoping to get to Bimini in late May hopefully by then they will have it all figured out.

A friend of mine that’s a sport fish captain does lots of crossings. He put together this step by step “tutorial” on the Click2Clear program. I thought I’d share it here with you - it’s a little long but pretty detailed:

I did the Click2Clear prior to our departure. For the most part it worked.

Click2Clear link:

https://www.bahamascustoms.gov.bs/

After subjecting myself to the process here are my thoughts. Its best in my opinion to upload everyones passport info/photo page , vessel documents and negative covid test to a folder on your computer prior to beginning this whole process. You will be asked to upload files .jpg or .pdf during the process. ALL info must be inputted correctly into the 6 or so tab categories. Once you fill in all the category sections the last Summary tab there are two blue buttons at the bottom of the page.
“Verify” which you do first. This confirms or notifies if you are missing any info. Then you can click the “Submit”button.

At that point a new tab to the right of summary will appear. Giving you the status of pending , approval or rejected.
If approved congratulations. Now go back to the left panel and find the pay button. You will be directed to another website to submit your credit card info. Once you pay and print the receipt you still need to find/stumble through and discover the buttons to print your cruising permit and fishing license. The fishing license print button is located on the bottom of the header page tab section.
The cruising permit print however is in a small drop down window on the top right of the summary page. Finding this drop down and print button takes some searching for with your mouse pointer.
As you complete the steps you will receive an email letting you know the status of the application.
Now that you have the
Cruising Permit, Fishing License and paid receipt printed. Your halfway there. You will next need to fill out the online health certificate. This is a little more straight forward. Using your uploaded information.
If you are doing this process for your whole crew you will have to create an separate user name/email and password for each person.
Each step however requires some wait time until you can proceed to the next step. At completion you will be to a different web page to submit a $60 payment per person.

Prior to departure print the following items

Cruising Permit
Fishing License
Paid receipt
Negative Covid Test for each person.

Now that you’re all prepared theres one head scratcher.....YOU STILL HAVE TO FILL OUT IMMIGRATION CARDS FOR EACH PERSON ONBOARD and bring those as well or fill them out upon arrival.
When you arrive bring all these papers to the Customs office along with everyones passports.
You will get all your papers stamped and be good to go.

Here is the Bahamian produced YouTube video links that may help as well.

Good Luck

Well this weekends planned trip to Bimini is a bust due to high winds and surf at the end of the week. Next weekend is amature hour with Memorial Day so have to wait to try again first or second weekend of June. On a good note got confirmation from the Bahamas Tourism Board about the July Eluthera 10 day fling. So far 10 out of 20 boats signed up and the logistic agenda is all set. Can't wait!!!!

Did they relieve the every 5 day testing requirement? That is the show stopper for me.
BTW you will really like Chub. There will be some incredible boats there for the event. We were there about six years ago when they first reopened in my 400DA; the 400DA was the smallest boat in the marina. There were 50 plus foot tenders that were towed behind some of those rigs....

Tom,

Where did you see needing a test every 5 days? As I understand it, if you been fully vaccinated, you do not need to take a COVID test and will be able to obtain your Bahamas Health Card. I know 2 boats cruising the Bahamas right now and no issues with having to take tests.

The way I have read the new regs is if I stay longer than 5 days I need to get a covid test once at the 5 day mark and that is it. Since I have had over 30 of them now one more will not worry me. But no not every 5 days.

The 5 day test requirement was in the Bahaman literature. My take was every 5 days and they offered exit testing. But, I haven't actually asked them.

No once you take the 5 day you are clear to stay for the length of your trip with no more requirements

No COVID testing required at all for vaccinated - initially or 5 days:
