I recently purchaesd a 2005, 260 Dancer that has molded channels on the radar arch that hold the zippers for the bimini tops. When the top is connected to the zipper on the arch, the zipper fabric pulls out of the channel on the top of the arch, but is tight on the sides. Is there a way to repair this or is buying and installing a new channel the way to fix.

You need to pull the Valance Insert (white zipper insert) out from one side and see if that is damaged or if the valance track itself is cracked or damaged at the point where the insert is coming loose. You will probably have to order new valance inserts. I have seen alot of them go bad. They are around $140ea. from Great Lakes. You can also buy the materials from www.sailrite.com and make your own if you are nifty with a sewing machine.

Thanks. I wish I had a picture handy (boat is at the lake - I'll be there Thursday) The valence insert looks perfect (the boat is a 2005 - but it only had 2 hrs on it - original owner never took delivery in 2007 after he bought it from Sea Ray dealer. It was stored in warehouse for many years.) Here is a shot at a drawing. I'm trying to figure out if the channel was "damaged" from heat, etc. View attachment zipper.pdf

More than likely the plastic channel that is attached to the arch is shot. I have a small spot on mine that is doing this but my bimini also snaps onto the arch so it doesn't come loose. I bought the zipper valance from Great Lakes a couple of months ago (I was missing some teeth on the zipper itself) and I belive the back valance was around $90 shipped.

I can't see the picture you posted but if it indeed is the valance track, I *think* this is what you will need to replace it. You may be able to just cut out the bad portion and replace it or replace the whole section. Just make sure the you seal the screws with marine adhesive caulk. Double check to make sure this is the right size if you decide to order. Sailrite used to have this stuff in 4 foot sticks but I am now unable to locate the correct track on their site.

I am sorry Kevin, i need to remember that, i have bought through them before....

I should have "quoted" @Wagner's message and not yours. This was not meant to undermine your response. I PM's him direct to let him know.

As far as the products go, anything we quote as from GLBT is the factory canvas we just give CSR members a discount ;) and some ordering advice.
