I wouldn’t be surprised if the black cause overplayed isn’t causing ill feelings towards them by general public.

The idea that violence isn't violence when they do it and that they're warning 'us' of what's to come if their demands are not met.....is not setting well with a lot of people.

After hearing some remarks made by BLM leaders I was disappointed and the support I have for them on some issues was quickly overridden by 'don't be threatening me ya motherfckrs'.

Sounds like a good question. First company I worked gave you car, sent you to a district and you worked for the district superintendent. His job was to show you what the trades did. In your interview you were told the first 6 months of employment would be in the field. You became equivalent to first year apprentice.

Of course Black Lives Matter. There is no argument. But, do Black Lives Matter more than other lives? The obvious answer should be, NO. But, after listening to people like the woman interviewed you get the feeling that this is not a belief they harbor. In the race riots in the '60s and '70s the cry was, "Equal Rights". But that wasn't what they really wanted. What they wanted was, "Special Rights'. And that is what they still want. I saw an interview with Morgan Freeman that was done a couple of years ago and he was asked, "As an African-American, how do we end racism." His response was, "Stop thinking of me as an African-American. I'm an American. We don't refer to you as a White-American."

There are more whites killed by police annually than blacks but whites outnumber blacks in the overall population therefore, proportionally, more blacks are killed. (My sources are Snopes and Wikipedia) The data also shows even though blacks are outnumbered by whites and Hispanics, blacks commit the majority of the crime (52% vs 43%). One important piece not reported are the number of people of all races that die at the hands of the police because they failed to comply to commands or chose to resist and attempted to escape custody.

We all agree there are a few bad cops that need to be relieved of their duties. But the majority of police are dedicated to doing their jobs well and want the bad cops gone as much as the BLM people do. The big problem is....none of these protestors think before making their statements and that goes back to Kaepernick. If he had called a press conference and stated his cause and mission, I believe he would have gathered more support in a positive light and he would still be in the NFL. Instead, he chose a method of protest that largely incited the nation and further divided the country along racial lines. The woman interviewed in Seattle is the absolute worst person to be speaking on behalf of any cause. Any sane person of any race that listens to her for 5 minutes wants to punch her in the throat. Abolish the police....and then what? That's the kind of statements that turn people off because they have no clue as to what might be better. They choose to not be part of the solution but to make the problem worse.

IF Rayshard Brooks had been white and no other circumstances changed, would there be as much protest and discussion? Doubtful. But why not? Isn't a white man's unjustified death at the hands of the police just as heinous? It should be.

This whole shitball is so screwed up right now and there just isn't going to be an easy or quick fix. I truly fear for us all.

It's short sighted and silly. Guys like King George and Abe Lincoln knew there was life after the rebellion and that it was important to rebuild and engage in commerce. Rebuilding means respecting your combatants and allowing them to save face.

If you recall, in RoboCop, the Detroit PD was taken over by a megacorporation, Omni Consumer Products (OCP) due to high crime and poor fiscal management. Things got better when RoboCop hit the streets. Maybe the protestors need to be careful what they wish for in wanting to abolish the police. The alternative could be worse. RoboCop discriminated against no race. He simply caught, or eliminated bad guys. (sigh)

Case in point. I am talking to my mom this morning on the phone who is a hard core republican. She lives in Canada. She asks me if I ever watch Chris Cuomo on CNN. I said absolutely not ... why? ....She says she really likes his stories. And then she said she really likes Anderson Cooper and how nice he was and how great it was that he was able to have a child.... then she started bad mouthing trump....it was like holy crap who are you and what have you done with my mom. I told her she needs to stop watching CNN right away.... she says the only other channel is BBC and they are Pakistani ..... I thought okay there is my mom.... I saved her just in time

My GF is from the EU and it's basically the only news they see from the US....It's by design...BBC is becoming just as bad.

In Canada we have French English problem. I married a French catholic. Not in line with English Angleton family I come from. We were in Montreal 34 years ago, our children were 5 and 6 at the time. We were in a CP Hotel (Fancy place) the children were playing on the cart they use to take luggage to your room and speaking English. The concierge came over and said in French "Do not play on that" Our daughter answered in French "Sorry we did not know" The concierge then said you are English how can you speak French. My daughter said in French we are not English we are Canadian.
When all people in the US become Americans not black, white, brown of other the riots and discriminations will stop.

I get all of the US networks so she is either yanking your chain or just likes CNN! To be honest, Fox is pretty much as bad as CNN. Both are insanely biased right and left. Fox will try to spin Trump statements into something its not. CNN dumps all over it from the opposite side. But that is a symptom of the polarization in the US. They both know their market and what gets people watching. Fox News has roughly the same viewership as CNN/MSNBC do combined. Polarized balance.
