Boat names anyone

Back in the 60's and 70's when every young man had a CB radio in his vehicle, my CB "handle" was Beachcomber. When we bought this boat it didn't have a name so that's what we picked for its name.

I don't know how often it's used, but I really wanted to name my current boat "Defiant". I'm kind of a Trek nerd and it would have been subtle nod to one of the more tougher ships in that universe. It would have looked great in gold leaf.

My wife initially didn't want to carry Jennifer B (her name) over to the new boat, and I thought I had a chance. If course I didn't tell about about the Trek linkage because she just tolerates my Trek-nerd-dom. I said that it was also honoring her attitude toward life. In the end she still wanted her name on the boat.

I respect the attempt to bring Trek to the sea. When my wife and I renewed our vows several years ago I wanted to do them in Klingon but was threatened with divorce so I resorted to closing them by quoting Spock.

former boat was named
“boozcruz “...new boat she wants “sea la vie’”....ehhhh....(thats life)...i do like my frank tho...

How many boats will be named "Social Distancing" now?

Why is it every fishing-style boat i see from 20' to 60' is named REEL something? So imaginative. Today I saw 2, ya 2 boats in the same marina, 2 slips apart both name NO WORRIES. Dear God people, get a racing form. there are a billion horse names you can use.

My all time 2 favorite boat names....and I actually saw these on boats.... “Nothing Clever” and “The Wife”

I saw a boat in the Keys named "Knot His Anymore". Guess she got the boat in the divorce.

In the 2 mile long the canal I navigate to get to the lake there are 4 marinas. In them I see the following winners:

Y Knot

Knot Too Shabby

Knot Enough

Knot On Duty

And my favorite:

A Frayed Knot

This gem is written in script that looks like rope with the “O” in Knot in the form of a square knot.

Then there’s the “Nauti” ones:

Nauti Gal

Nauti Dream

Nau-Sea

Truly great boat names are rare and I always appreciate the thought that goes into them if there’s a good pun involved.

My boats have all been named after song titles with a few that required some deep knowledge.

I had a metal flake green Glastron named Manalishi that only one person ever understood.

I' ll take 2nd. Cause you're da Green Manalishi with the two prong crown

Mine is called Andiamo. Not especially uncommon... not too common either. It's the Italian word for "Let's go".

We just ordered a new Sea Ray, and I think we are going to call it "Honeymoon" because the money we had saved for our honeymoon this year is going to be the down payment.

Good for you Man!!

You actually get first place. The guy who got it thought that the Judas Priest cover was an original of theirs. He was young.

Our started as joke when we bought it and got it on the trailer to bring home and I said "damn that's a big ass boat on that trailer".
My daughter said we should name it "Big Ass Boat", but as some other mention and as an ex Coastie, no way I was getting on the radio and saying that.
So we compromised on BABOAT our inside joke for Big Ass Boat On A Trailer

I like that.

Mine was called Go Big Or Go Home when I got it. Not my style.

My wife fought hard to rename it Fat Bottom Girl but as fitting as it is, there was no way.
