Gas powered 1990 39 ft Sea Ray. Second 30 amp outside receptacle that has brunt off at the place where the positive wire screws into the back of the receptacle.
This is the same one that burnt out before
Is there a better outside 30 amp boat receptacle?

You could be running too many AC accessories on 30 amps.

I had this problem last year myself. I watch the ammeters on the main panel more closely and have my wife understanding the limitations more as well.

Do you have 2 exterior shore power inlets? Your boat probably needs 50 amp service. Mine sure does.

As mentioned before - neat, clean and tight connections - the more surface area the better. Protect with Dielectric grease to prevent any corrosion. The connection will act like a resistor so again as mentioned watch the amp gauge on the panel to see if you are over amperage. If you are over 30A with all high consumption items like water heater, AC, stove, etc then you will need to use some manually controlled power management.

I have two 30A inputs and occasionally when were at a 30A only dock we may blow the fuse on the pedestal if everything kicks on at once.
