My wife and I are visiting Miami for a few days later this month. We're interested in renting a boat for a 1/2 day for sightseeing and possibly stopping for lunch, and are willing to stay in the ICW.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a reputable firm, or individual renting their own boat? We vacation every year over on the West Coast of Florida (Sarasota/Bradenton area) and there seems to be a lot more companies available there than what i'm finding online in the Miami area.

Thanks in advance.

Mike

Try Boatsetter or getmyboat - people typically offer smaller boats without a captain service - ive seen a lot of bayliner elements, some sea rays and small CCs for rent...

Thanks. I found these guys that rent the Bayliner Elements, Bruschi Boat Rental. But they're way up the Miami River and their waiver says no docking is allowed except at their dock, or in an emergency.

We rented a 24' bow rider in Cape Coral and the fresh water tank was full of gas....we found that out after trying to wash salt and sand off after being at the beach.... I couldn't imagine being in the boat rental business in Florida...hence all the rules.
There are a few places that captain a 30-40' CC & Cabin cruisers....it might be more fun....sitting back with a few beverages...while someone else does all the work

This guy has a few you can rent, otherwise you are looking at $250 hr with captain.

We may go the captain route, but I always enjoy driving myself. We've actually had pretty good luck with rental boats in the Sarasota/Bradenton area from multiple rental firms. Boats have all been in pretty good condition.

Thanks. I'm seeing a few on getmyboat that we may check out too. I was wondering if anyone had any direct experience with anyone down there.
No sorry... one thing I have learned over the years living in south Florida....Sunny place shady people....
