Boat shopping never seems to end. The quest continues.

So I got the survey back annddddd.....the boat needs bottom paint. Everything else is perfect and in the words of the surveyor "this is one of the nicest, if not THE nicest well cared for boat in this entire area. You've got yourself one hell of a boat."

sign and drive!

Only snag so far is the trucking company is a few days behind due to the weather out West. Won't be more than a week delay at most. Was hoping for delivery on 3/26 but now it will be late the following week.

Congratulations!

Received the hard copy for the survey this AM and in addition to needing the bottom painted the other major finding and subsequent recommendation was “consider adding absorbing pads under the engines.”

Hopefully the transport starts within a week or so.

Should have it by mid next week and the extremely optimistic part of me is hoping I can be in the water April 2. Needs the bottom painted and the from rub rail down waxed. All these months and it's finally paying off!!!

Canvas removed, carpet removed and the prepping for transport has begun.

Looks like a beauty

is the engine hatch motorized or is it a one you lift out? With that big of engine room, may not need the whole thing out....

I feel really good about things when the owners spend a week on the boat making sure everything is perfect and getting it ready for transport.

I'd feel even better if I could rotate the pictures!!

They used Amazing Roll-off. That stuff is...well...Amazing.

John,

I am very familiar with several 3100series Caterpillar engines in 40-45 ft Sea Rays and none of them leak oil. If your surveyor recommended diapers under the engines I am surprised that he did not cite the source of the oil. After all, they are white engines and following the oil drip from the source to the bilge shouldn't be a big task. At least, that way you could have made a decision about how to handle it with the seller. Replacing an oil pan or even a pan gasket is an expensive process on the 450 so maybe the diaper recommendation is valid, but the way your surveyor handled it prevented you from exploring that route.

Good luck with the transport.........

He didn't say there was any oil anywhere, no drips, no stains, nothing at all to trace. There was no oil at all on or under the engines or noted anywhere in the bilge area. He just mentioned it's a good idea to place diapers under the engines as a "just because" measure. Glad to see the survey showed zero issues other than the known swim platform moisture reading.

Successfully loaded yesterday and was on the road at 930am today. Planning about a week on land putting everything back together, waxing from rub rail down, checking anodes and painting the bottom.

she's a monster

Boat is scheduled to arrive tomorrow sometime around noon. Calling for rain all day with Thursday and Friday highs in the 40s. Low of 29 Thursday night and 30 Friday night. Thinking of a portable heater in the bilge as I'm there during the day on Thursday and Friday.

Boat made it safely to its new home. I'll be there over the next several days giving it a good bath, putting the electronics back together, assembling the canvas supports and getting it ready to go in the water in about a week.

Can't say enough good things about C&J Yacht Transport. They were awesome the entire step of the way.

Congrats again, relief to see it pull in I’m sure. Putting it back together will be fun and getting to know it even better

The best part of this entire process was I knew this was the boat to buy immediately when I met the owners at the marina. Owners showed the boat for about 2hrs and then we sat and talked for another 1.5hrs. This boat was their pride and joy and it showed. The deal was done with a handshake, no fine print, no lawyers involved, no contract, etc., have the boat surveyed and if for any reason you don't like what you find we can both go our separate ways. Needless to say everything was absolutely perfect as the owner claimed and I expected.

They spent about a week getting it ready for transport sending me daily updates via calls, pics and text. The trucking company said they have never met nicer people with an incredibly well cared for boat. Owners watched every move as the boat was loaded on Friday night and when they found out the truck wouldn't be leaving till Saturday 930am "we decided to stay at the marina for a few more hours to continue the celebration and say our good-byes....to the boat." They returned Saturday AM to see the boat off and take the final pics and video of the boat going down the road. Class act. I'll stay in touch with these people forever, just because.
