I took on this '89 Bowrider 200 and have been slowly fixing the little issues. Next up is a pritty nasty little scrape at the bottom of the hull, right below the drain hole. It looks like it was backed into something. No other hull damage.
Would it be best to reshape that lost V with some marine putty and glass over then gelcoat? or can I carve it in a little bit and fill with straight resin?
I used to shoot automotive paint on the side so know my way around bondo and paint guns. I have some large needle paint guns capable of passing gel coat. Just not sure what the tried and true method is, everything I've seen has been for filling isolated chips, not reshaping.
Even though it's only about 3" long. Thanks much.
