new to bravo 3 in terms of handling how do they differ with how you use them? After a test
trial, I have to say the handling of the boat was great. I was told that I have to treat the shifting of the bravo 3 different that the Alpha... any help that would be great....
thank you

I don't know that there is any difference in how you handle them... as always, get it in gear quickly and solid.

Welcome to CSR!

Nothing different in terms of how to use them. Forward, neutral, reverse, left, right. BUT... never shift a Bravo drive if the engine isn't running.

Same as above what Lazy Daze said... But in that note the only thing i notice with a bravo 3 over the Alph is that there is no slip... and shifts a lot better...

No Dog Clutch like an alpha, uses cone friction style instead - so shifting is a lot smoother with a B3

thanks, guys.... so, the next question would be--- how to flush this outdrive... there is an outside hookup at the transom, I am pretty sure I get that, simple hookup of the hose turn on the water fire up the engine and let run.... that done how would you flush the lower unit?

Doubt that is factory. I would check and make sure that line goes to a flush fitting on the motor. Otherwise, you get a set of muffs and flush from the outdrive.

sorry to get something started guys.... the previous owner install the flush kit at the transom and that's great if the boat is still in the water and easy to get at for flushing on the hard. that said, what flushes the lower unit? by hooking up the ears to the foot to flush where will it go and what kind of damage can it do?
as I stated, this Bravo 3 is all new to me... the previous owner closed of the water pickup on the foot and put a through hull clam on the bottom to bring more water in.

Have found the raw water pumps with Bravo's can move a lot more water than the average garden hose can supply. We flush after every use and don't raise rpm's above idle when on a hose. We trailer and actually prefer to back down a fresh water ramp on our way home and run the main and kicker on the trailer. Much quicker and rinses the trailer as well.
