Does anyone have any information on Brookville Lake in Indiana? Anyone every boat there?

Thanks

Been there a bit
Long narrow lake ..very nice
Was considering slipping at Kent's harbor this year but low water levels changed my mind
And since they had issues with bluegreen algae this year I wont return this season
several people got quite sick from it.

I have been boating on Brookville for 12 years. We have kept boat in a slip at at Kent's harbor marina for past 5 years. 3 marinas, 1 restaurant (pretty good food), 2 beaches, a cool "party cove" with lots of raft ups on weekends, Lots of houseboats, some nice Sea Rays (my buddy has a 340DA two slips down), and too many pontoons!

Quint4, were you out yesterday? I kept an eye out for your boat, but did not see it.

I have been boating there for the past 4 summers. We trailer there on weekends and during the week on occasion. We were just there yesterday. It is very much a weekenders destination. Weekends during the summer get crowded up until Labor Day. Weekdays the lake is empty. We were there for a couple of hours yesterday and other than sailboats it was pretty much dead. The cove Quint4 mentioned had 8 boats, a small fraction of what is normally there before Labor Day. Like others have said, the lake is down this year. I would guess 3 to 4 ft. Most of the lake of the is deep, 20 ft +. Down by the dam 100ft, but beware of where you are on the lake as there are some shallow spots when the lake is at its current level. We came through a section just outside the cove mentioned before that is normally 7 to 12 ft and it was 3 ft and was stirring up mud. Thank god it was mud and not rocks!

I agree with Quint4, way to many pontoons!

Scott makes a good point
last fall when the water was up to normal I was anchored in a cove in about 30feet of water and drug the bottom of my 240on the top of submerged standing timber

Hey Guys - Thanks for all the feedback. We were actually headed there today, when we had an issue with the truck and had to turn back. Maybe we will reconsider heading their.

Thanks again

I don't think you would be dissappointed by going there. This is a good time to familiarize yourself with it as there are not many boats out. If the weather holds for Saturday, we will be there again.

Being near Dayton, I am not sure where you normally boat, but I like it better than East Fork and Ceasers Creek (if that is where you are going on a regular basis).

We may head out there this weekend. I need to get the trailer brakes fixed first, that was the issue yesterday when we attempted to go.

Ceasers Creek is where we normally go, so it should be a nice change.

wow nice reading this old thread since I saved 3 lives when I worked there as a lifeguard
