The C120 Classic MFD (manufactured in October 2006) in my boat came with a "CompactFlash card" for the eastern Great Lakes. I would like to get one for the western Great Lakes (or just Lake Superior) where I boat.

* Where can I find these cards?
* Is it a matter of just inserting it in the C120?

Any help is appreciated,

I've determined that I need chart #17 model 900G from Navionics. Having said that, I cannot find one anywhere - ebay etc. Anyone know of other sources for this item?????

You should be able to buy it from a Navionics dealer. Have you tried contacting Navionics directly? While some of the cards are blister packed pre-loaded, some dealers take blank cards and download the data to them. If that doesn't work you can try the usual used sources like CL and the hull truth parts forum.

Are you sure you don't need the 901p.? This is eastern great lakes, the 900 is the western Great Lakes region. This is what I found. Also.

I'm sure it's 900G - I boat on Lake Superior. Also, I need the "G" (gold) version. "P" (platinum) isn't compatible.

Absolutely no luck - tried ebay, CL and an email directly to Navionics (no reply). I'm at a loss - any more suggestions?

I have just upgraded my software and charts on my c120, I bought the charts from west marine and I downloaded the upgraded software from ray marines site. Now an aside you need a small CF card I order to upgrade the software as the older software does not see a card larger than 1GB. After I figured that out the upgrade and charts loaded quickly.
Good luck

Navionics can take a few days to answer....

You can get the MicroSD card to Flash adaptor from raymarine - that allows you to use the MicroSD card based maps in the C120 (if you use the latest firmware in the C120) (http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wc...&subdeptNum=50177&classNum=50185#.UduFC_nIVyI)

I have not tried it so I can't promise you it will work... But as long as you only buy the "gold" versions and MicroSD card is not > 2GB it think it will.

Found the correct CF card, BUT when I insert it nothing happens. The same with the card that came with the boat. The screen might flash/flicker a little while it's being inserted, but nothing else(?). The GPS function works fine. The card seems to go in a bit hard, other than that I don't know why nothing happens - any help?

Is the unit off when you insert it? And be careful not to bend the pins, if its hard to insert that could be the cause.
