Hi Everyone,
I am about to be the new owner of a 2007 340 Sundancer.
Everything has checked out with the survey and mechanical inspection and this boat appears to have been kept in great condition. very exciting!

During my final walk through, I noticed on the Cabin DC panel that when I tried the Voltage Test switch, there was "DC Volts" and "Amps" when in the default position (port). However, when I press the switch to check the Stbd batteries, the needle drops to 0.

Both main battery switches are on. Everything is working. Both Engines start no problem.

I am curious if there is a procedure for doing this check

Any thoughts or ideas ?

If both engines start, assuming the "emergency start" switch was not used, I would expect something is wrong with the panel/switch.

To be sure you may want to get into the engine room and check for 12V on both sides.

You could also open the panel. Maybe it's as easy as a loose wire on the switch?

Hi,
I did check the engine room panel and the port and stbd switch are on and the switch lights do glow.

Also, when starting the engines, the emergency start switch was NOT used.

I will have to open up the panel and see if there is anything that stands out.

Did you check the voltage on the battery terminals with a meter? Apologize if you already did, but its not clear in the posts.

Hi,

I did not seeing that both the stbd and port engines turn right over.
I certainly will once i own the boat.

I have a 320, and the DC meter in the panel has always been off (reads 8-10v even when charging and both sides are at 13+). Was like that at the survey, all the gauges at the dash, Smartcraft, and vessel view Mobile all read identical (11.7 or 13.9, etc depending situation), so I rely on those.
